I bought a car today worth 800. When I initially test drove it for ten minutes it sounded fine. However after exchanging money. I drove to work and noticed that it is making a very funny noise when turning. The noise gets worse and worse. Should I take it back. It has no warranty as it was less than 1000

Hi Beatrice,

Take it back. you can do one of 2 things: -

1. Ask them to sort it out.

2. Tell them you want your money back. If they refuse quote them the Sales of Goods Act and you will reprot them to Trading Standards.

i would may be also take it to a garage to get it checked to have clarified what is actually wrong with it.

to me (and Im no expert) it sounds like a problem with either the power steering if the car has it or the steering column itself - I had the same sort of problem with an escort I had that sounded like a dinosaur roaring when you turned it!
