Black Horse - 'errors' With Vin No. & Paperwork; can I do anything about this?

Hi there
I have a motorhome that has three different VIN/chassis numbers. And, all three VIN/chassis numbers are registered to my registration plate.
Black Horse themselves have confirmed this - I have to put a letter together but don't know where I stand legally on this.
The vehicle VIN is different to the log book/V5 VIN & Black Horse have another VIN on the HP agreement.
All similar numbers but when the chap from BH put the details in to prove they were typing errors he said it was ' very odd' when all three VIN numbers came up registered to my registration plate.
As it's over £25k it is an unregulated HP agreement.
Can I insist the vehicle is returned & all payments I've made refunded??
Any thoughts would be great.

If the HP agreement is unenforceable you can get a full refund of all monies paid. I suspect though that you might have to go to court to get judgement.

Hi Bakedalsker
Just to clarify - would my situation mean the HP agreement is unenforceable?

I cannot say Dotty.

You would need to seek the proper advice here. If the details on a HP agreement areincorrect then a case for unenforceable contract is possible. This would need to be checked.

If you want to send us the agreement we can get it checked out for you.

This does happen quite frequent when dealers fill out the finance doc and in error type or write in a wrong number or digit.

Have you HPI'd the car, this will show you what VIN number has been registered against the car, don't forget the true and correct one will be on your V5 (log book)

As for the agreement being unenforceable I guess this would be a difficult route to go down, human error does happen and if you were claiming it just on the fact of a wrong numbers or digits on the HP agreement I would'nt think you will have a case.

But you can always get it checked out by the legal eagles, good luck!

Hi there
Yes the motorhome has been HPI'd & has shown THREE different VIN/chassis numbers all registered to the one registration plate.
Two of the numbers are showing as having finance along with the vehicle details.
The actual chassis number on the vehicle shows no vehicle details, no finance but registered to my registration plate.

Note to Bakedalasker
I'm paying for a vehicle that doesn't exist, that has no documentation. The documentation I do have is for another vehicle.
I've been in touch with Trading Standards & they are passing it to enforcement. Not sure what this means or what they will do. I'll just keep chipping away. Thank you for offering to get the agreement checked - where would I send it to?
