Hi,

I got my car in August 2005.
I was in full time employment.
I was told I could not get the car unless I took those insurances out.
I have paid every payment of £196.31 and only had one letter costing £15.00 as I had no funds in my account in June 2006.
I have had no problems with the car apart from squeaky breaks. Although they were like that when i got the car.
As I am Hard of Hearing my mum has been speaking to Stephensons on my behalf about the PPI but we have not heard much on that front.

I am aware I will have to carry on paying the £44.00 odd insurance but I would rather be rid of the car and the payments (plus petrol et al) so I am prepared to carry on paying that.

I have been looking forward to this for months but after reading some posts I am a bit concerned there are going to be problems.

Am I right to be concerned? I just want rid of this burden.

hello Miss HCPink, welcome to our forum.

I am presumimg you want to return the car at your half way point which should be August 2007. If you return the car in August you will be liable for the remaining insurances which I think you are aware of.

If you return the car now you will also be liable for the car payments up to the half way mark. So you will need to pay another 3 months instalments.

Also I'm afraid YCC will try and charge you £80 to collect the car. By law you do not need to pay this.

We advise that all users returning the car to take pictures of it before collection. Lately YCC have tried to claim damages from a returned car.

You mentioned that you were in full time employment. Were you made redundant or ill health caused you out of employment? If so did you try claiming on your PPI?

Thanks for the quick response!

I am looking to return in August and I am aware I'll have to pay until then.

I am still in full time employment and have not had any serious sick leave or anything. We just contacted Stephensons as I felt it was unfair that they said I could not get the car without the insurances.

I'm was a bit concerned that I had misread the contract and that I'd be stuck with it for the next 2 years instead of being able to send it back.

Cheers.
