some years ago i purchased a car from daf, only to fall behind with the high re payments the car was taken back with out a court order. years later they got in touch asking for 3500(this figure keeps rising)! i dont know were i stand and dont know if we had even payed over one third of the overal cost i do now the amount there asking for is all i had left to pay on the agreement, so what about the cars value they had taken back why was in not deducted from the amount owing!!!

Joanne, welcome to our forum. Your final settlement should be the remaining balance minus the car value. From your post I would suggest you do a Data Protection Act (DPA) request to DAF at Horsham. Feel free to use our template: - http://z11.invisionfree.com/saynotoyes/ind...?showtopic=1684 I would also ask for a copy of any default notices, court summons in regards to the repossession of the car and proof of the car sale and its value. Once we have this information then we shall see were we go from there. |
