Just had a call from Direct Auto finance.

Here is my situation... I handed my car back in April 2006 under VT. Still had to pay insurances so have been paying them at £30/month. I looked into legal challenges etc but could not get any help up here in Scotland so I bit the bullet and just continued paying.

Today I was informed I had £144 outstanding but they would right off 50% of it if I cleared it by Friday this week.

Is this a last ditch attempt to get money before the company dissolves or something?

I would paid it if you can and get them to confirm what they have said in writing. Yes its not a huge amount but any saving is a good one with DAF!
