[size=7]I never read anything by Jodi Picoult but my sister just gave me 2 - Salem Falls and Second Glances. Haven't started them yet but they sound good. Not really big on Nora Roberts but those sound interesting. I read the witch series by Anne Rice and liked those (never read the vampire series).[/size]

The Vampire Series isn't that bad. It eventually blends with the witch series towards the end.

If you like Anne Rice, Consider Laurell K Hamilton. She also has a 'witch' type series and a 'Beaties' (Vamps, Lycanthropes, Witches, all sorts of legendary creatures) series. They tend to get REALLY porny though, fair warning.
