Live from L.A - Grey's Anatomy - March 22, 2008
Grey's Anatomy - Return to glory

Grey's returns on April 24th with a whole mess of all-new episodes, and not a moment too soon. If you're like me, you have questions and concerns that need to be addressed, stat!

Some thoughts:
* Bailey's going to end up having to operate on her husband, isn't she? Then we'll see how grumpy he is about having a world-class surgeon for a wife.
* Am I like, the only person on Earth who think that Derek and Rose would make a cute couple? (Ah....YA!!!) Sure, their kiss was a little awkward (and indiscrete) but Derek isn't in the wrong here. He told Meredith that he'd wait - but not forever. Maybe seeing them together will finally snap Mer out of it and she'll realize she wants to be with McDreamy 24 x 7.
* So George and Izzie are history, right? It sure looks that way. Man, all that heartache and drama for nothing.
* Lexie's turning into a more well-rounded and interesting character. She went through the rite of passage that all Seattle Grace doctors go through - getting too attached to a patient and then watching their artery explode. Well, maybe they don't all specifically endure artery geysers, but you know what I mean. I expect that Lexie will be a little more weary and wise going forward.
* Meredith, Meredith, Meredith... She needs a good therapist to get over her family issues and to clarify what she wants in life.
* Is there a Mark/Hahn coupling in the works? I don't know, she doesn't seem like his type. Wait a second, what am I saying? Hahn's got a pulse and two X chromosomes - of course she's his type!
* Is Ava/Rebecca going to turn into a scary stalker? That's where I see this heading. Alex needs to wake up - she's damaged goods. He should hang out with Lexie, they make a cute couple.

So many questions... Just a few short weeks until we get some answers. I am PSYCHED!

Loretta Devine counts her many blessings - April 17, 2008
"I heard that George Michael is using some of my voice tracks on his new album," Loretta Devine joked last week in talking about the musical number she and the singer perform during tonight's season finale of ABC's "Eli Stone." "Well, if he does, he's going to have to pay me," punctuating the line with one of her trademark high-pitched giggles.

If Michael does include Devine on his record, it would add another coup for the multitalented actress whose 25-year career has really heated up over the last several years. Whether it's being a regular on "Eli Stone," a recurring role on "Grey's Anatomy," or scene-stealing turns on the stage and screen, Devine seems to be everywhere at once...................In a few weeks, Devine will return to her recurring role on "Grey's Anatomy" as Adele, the estranged wife of Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.). "People come up to me all the time and say, 'Why you so mean to that man?' " she said with another giggle. "I say, 'Well, for one thing, he cheated on me!' "

"Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes said she was one of Devine's biggest fans: "When I first wrote the part of Adele, Loretta was the only person I talked about playing the role from the very beginning. The very first time you see her, she blows into the hospital, fresh from vacation, furious that her husband has undergone surgery without calling her. I wanted Loretta because I knew, in that one moment, she would deliver the powerful performance of an angry, relieved, stern, loving woman. Because, as far as I'm concerned, Loretta can do anything."............................cont’d

Amy Madigan cast on Grey's Anatomy - Mar 26th 2008
If you want great acting, she will come. The Field of Dreams allusion is purposeful. The leading lady from that film, Amy Madigan, is joining ABC's Grey's Anatomy. The actress who's a past Oscar-nominee for Twice in a Lifetime will have a recurring role, becoming part of the Seattle Grace Hospital coterie on April 24 when the show returns with new episodes....cont'd

Ausiello Report - Mar 19, 2008 5:57 PM
Exclusive: Grey's Recruits Two Carnivale Grads!
Amy Madigan has booked a multi-episode arc on Grey's Anatomy, sources confirm to me exclusively. The Oscar-nominated thesp — and former co-star of HBO's gone-but-not-forgotten Carnivale — is playing a psychiatrist who, and I'm just speculating here, may be the one to help Meredith get over her commitment issues, thus paving the way for the Mer/Der reunion Shonda Rhimes has been hyping.
Meanwhile, Madigan's former Carnivale co-star, Clea DuVall, will fill the "everywoman housewife" role I teased in last week's Ask Ausiello. Her George Clooney-esque husband will be played by Jason O'Mara (Men in Trees, In Justice). I'm guessing one of them will be a patient. Both are on board for two episodes.............photos

Oh, Carnivale, how I miss thee….
