RECAPS & REVIEWS & RATINGS BUDDYTV Grey's Anatomy: Episode 4.7 "Physical Attraction... Chemical Reaction" Recap - Thursday, November 08, 2007 Previously on Grey's Anatomy, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) walked in on Alex (Justin Chambers) and Lexie (Chyler Leigh) fooling around, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Callie (Sara Ramirez) are a team, Hahn (Brooke Smith) is the new head of cardiothoracic surgery, Richard (James T. Pickens) moves into a trailer next to Derek's (Patrick Demspey), Izzie (Katherine Heigl) and George (T.R. Knight) really wanted to have sex, but didn't. Tonight's Grey's Anatomy begins with George and Izzie post-coitus. They are exhausted because it was evidently a very aerobic session of the sex. They get right back on the horse for round two. Derek and Meredith are also post-coitus in the trailer. She leaves to go, making Derek a very, very sad puppy dog. Cristina (Sandra Oh) paints her walls vermilion red. A happy color, like blood. http://www.buddytv.com/articles/greys-anat...hysi-13522.aspx ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ZAP2IT 'Grey's Anatomy': Like Clockwork - November 08, 08:31 PM There was a lot going on in this week's Grey's Anatomy -- some indirect dealing with the ever-plaguing abandonment issues, coming to terms with family (or the idea of it), annoying patients, hospital sex, odd couples, and George and Izzie. On a scale of 1 to great, I give it a fair to middlin.' But I will give credit where credit is due: some things are playing out touchingly, while others seem to be getting the ick factor they deserve. It's all about chemistry. And spoilers. Which are coming right up… Let's just deal with the giant pink elephant in the room, so I can move on. George and Izzie. Apparently the chemistry they had when they were busting up George's marriage just isn't there any more. The sex is, in a word, "horrible" -- they're trying too hard, Izzie's bending her legs in a way they shouldn't bend, and kissing George is like being pecked by a chicken. Fair enough. If you ask me, anyone who sets up an expectation for "perfect sex" is either reading too much Marie Claire or just has it coming when reality doesn't live up to expectations. ......................cont’d http://blog.zap2it.com/ithappenedlastnight...-anatomy-l.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TV SQUAD Grey's Anatomy: Physical Attraction... Chemical Reaction - Nov 9th 2007 12:14AM (S04E07) "You know you need it." - Alex I just don't know what to say anymore. No other show on TV leaves me with such a mixed bag of emotions in quite the same way as Grey's Anatomy does. That's ironic, you realize, because the end result is something I can't fully distinguish as enjoyable or painful... so I go ahead and watch it anyway. I know I've said it before, but the title makes absolutely no sense because the show has almost nothing to do with Meredith at this point. What we've got here is this dramatic anomaly caught somewhere in between St. Elsewhere at its best (for quirkiness) and ER at its worst (for dramatic cheese), with some storylines about face-lift grandmas and chronically constipated men who have sex........cont’d http://www.tvsquad.com/2007/11/09/greys-an...mical-reaction/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- EW.COM EW - TV Watch ''Grey's Anatomy'': Bed Her Late, Then Never - Nov 08, 2007 George and Izzie realize that their long-awaited best sex ever isn't going to happen; plus, Meredith lets Lexie open up to her, and Bailey becomes chief resident - Well, friends, are we psyched? This was the episode we've been waiting for since last spring! George and Izzie are finally on the old Grey's Anatomy road to ruin. And I admit this is a good lesson in Grey's viewing as well as life: Sit tight if you hate something, as nothing is permanent. Who knew Seattle Grace was as good as an ashram? Meredith's narration broke it down thusly for the non-Buddhist scholars among us: ''When you're talking about human chemistry, only one thing matters — either you've got it or you don't.'' Ah, also so true. (Lesson in why Internet dating can go so badly so quickly.) And the Chief and Derek seemed to have plenty of chemistry themselves, with the Dreamster gallantly stepping in to help the about-to-be-divorcé with basics like laundry in exchange for ''movie nights'' with the Chief's DVD collection (which would have to be damn good for me to be tending to his dirty clothes, but we all know what a pushover Derek is). ..........................cont’d http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20159352,00.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------- MSNBC MSNBC - Grey’s Gossip, Weekly udate Final fantasy?: George and Izzie finally have sex, and it's terrible. He went on to tell Meredith about how bad it was, and Meredith didn't want to hear it. Join the club, Mer! George suggested they play out some fantasies, but unfortunately, that didn't include not hooking up again and going back to being friends and forgetting this whole tryst ever happened. Oh wait, that was the viewers' fantasy! It was another experiment gone horribly wrong – a little like their whole relationship....................cont’d http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14484204/?pg=2...ysAnatomy_CHART ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TV GUIDE The Chief Gets a New Girlfriend - Nov 8, 2007 Episode Recap: "Physical Attraction...Chemical Reaction" (November 8th, 2007) "Chemistry. Either you've got it, or you don't." And tonight, Gizzie fizzled! I thought it would bring me happiness to see this pairing finally come to an end, but it left me kind of sad instead. Here were two people who went to great lengths to be together, only to find that the thrill was gone, once the moment of truth came. And in the wake of all that drama, a marriage was destroyed and reputations have been tarnished. The question now is, where do George and Izzie go from here? On a happier note, the Chief did get a new girlfriend tonight. Okay, so that's not entirely true, but it was funny how Mark suggested that's what Derek had become. I'm loving the chemistry between all three of these guys, who remind me of schoolboys at recess the way they playfully tease and taunt one another. They definitely bring a fun element to the show, that otherwise seems to be lacking this season. http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TV...s-New/800026922 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- FANGASM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- LA TIMES ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW YORK MAGAZINE Devouring Culture Vulture Blog ‘Grey’s Anatomy’: Tooth-Chippingly Bad Sex - 11/ 9/07 We open with a shot of George and Izzie, sweaty, lying in bed, presumably after attempting to consummate their yucky affair. Says Meredith in voice-over: In terms of human chemistry, either you’ve got it … or you don’t. We guess we’re meant to assume that George and Izzie don’t. (Haven’t we been saying that for, like, years? Yes, we have.) But as always, it’s the patients and their illnesses that teach the life lessons here. So without further ado … Izzie gets: A grouchy post-op plastic-surgery patient who keeps telling Izzie to go out and have some fun. Because the patient’s a huge pain, she’s put in a room with Gerry, a guy who can’t seem to “crap” (his word, not ours) and who’s also giving the doctors a hard time. What it means: Izzie is not having any fun with George. They keep having terrible, awkward sex — George even chips his tooth at one point! Although that’s not surprising, given that Katherine Heigl's head is twice the size of George's entire body. The outcome: The annoying patients get busy in their recovery room, bandages and all. Izzie sees that they have chemistry, but she and George, well, you know................cont’d http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2007/...chippingly.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------- RATINGS |
