Grey’s Anatomy: Episode 5.21 “No Good At Saying Sorry” Recap – Friday, May 01, 2009

Grey's Anatomy. begins tonight with an opening shot of the beautiful Puget Sound. Meredith's voiceover and the title of the episode indicates it's all about saying you're sorry. All of Izzie's friends are crowded around Izzie's bed, sampling chicken skewers for her as part of the wedding preparations. She might be having surgery today so she is not allowed to eat anything, so she has to depend on everyone else's taste buds in order to pick the appetizers. Everyone is driving her n.uts, though, because they say things like, "The chicken tastes like chicken." Izzie is anxious to get the menu nailed down so that she can put it on the wedding website that she set up for Meredith and Derek. (Meredith is all, "What, now? There's a website??") Derek emerges from the bathroom wearing his morning coat, clearly uncomfortable.

'Grey's Anatomy' Wedding Crew Spotted, The Jig is Up! - Friday, April 17, 2009
Shonda got us good. Or so she thinks.

After the slew of spoilers, confirmations and subsequent retractions, no one knows what's going to happen as Grey's Anatomy inches closer to its finale. Initially, the ABC medical dramedy's now notorious creator has informed everyone via Twitter that it is indeed Derek and Meredith who are saying their I do's on the show's 100th episode. Not that she isn't trustworthy (or a flat-out evil liar), but it's just very hard to believe that things will go as planned on the episode.

Now another report surfaced that claims it has nailed down Shonda and for good. According to the source, it spotted the filming of the heavily anticipated wedding scene and can now conclusively identify who's getting married, once and for all. If such is true, didn't the Grey's Anatomy crew learn anything from the Sex and the City film? I heard those folks shot multiple endings just to avoid spilling the plot.

Read at your own risk. Spoilers.

According to some reports (with pictures), Katherine Heigl was spotted in the middle of filming in Los Angeles recently, and she was wearing a wedding dress. She was with best friend T.R. Knight, with a "big jacket/robe thing" over the dress but there was "no doubt" that it was a wedding dress. She was in the doorway only for a minute or two before going back inside. A set of photos here has Ellen Pompeo in something purple. Bride turned bridesmaid? It also looks like almost everyone is there, including Sloan (Eric Dane), Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Yang (Sandra Oh), Meredith (Pompeo) and George (Knight).

Here's how things currently stand. If this is true, it means cancer-stricken Izzie (Heigl) will pull an A Walk to Remember and marry boyfriend Alex (Justin Chambers) before she dies. Of course, this doesn't mean that the MerDer wedding is already off the to-do-list. It's not impossible to have two weddings (very unlikely, though).

On hindsight, it is so Meredith to selflessly forego her dream wedding for a dying friend. She always says she' dark and twisty and it's true, but we all know she's an extremely good person too. As for Alex doing his part, we've seen how he's been desperately sad the past few episodes. He feels guilty about not noticing the symptoms at all, and he obviously wants to make it up to Izzie.

Or could this be a deliberate ploy to make Grey's Anatomy fans think it's Izzie, when in fact, it's still Meredith all along? But when does it end?

Regardless of who's getting married, who would YOU like to hitch on Grey's? POLL

Recession hits ‘Housewives,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ - April 14, 2009
...............................................

Over at “Grey’s Anatomy,” one source close to the show says that Katherine Heigl, whose character, Izzie Stephens, just had brain surgery, could suffer a similar fate.
“Katie had no way of knowing that when she initially made it seem like she wanted out of her contract, the economy would be where it is now and they’d be looking to cut costs,” said the source. “It’s no coincidence that now you hear her saying she’s along for as long as they’ll have her.”

Grey’s Anatomy: No Good at Saying Sorry (One More Chance) – May 1, 2009

The 99th episode of Grey's Anatomy has come and past and the last five minutes got to me. There's something gratifying about having all the storylines set to music and every other character in tears. It's definitely setting up for the big 100.

BAILEY IN FOR SHAKEUP - April 16, 2009
"GREY'S Anatomy" star Chandra Wilson says fans should expect some bombshells in next month's season finale.

"I've been told there are some life-changing things that happen to all of us," says Wilson, who plays chief resident Miranda Bailey on ABC's medical drama.

"I don't know what those things are that [show creator] Shonda Rhimes is talking about... so I don't know how Bailey's life is altered," she says. "But I would love to see that final episode!"

Bailey has certainly changed this season, with the once-hard-nosed doc visibly softening now that she's chosen pediatrics over surgery. That storyline continues when "Grey's" returns next Thursday with its first new episode in four weeks.

"It's supposed to be Bailey's day off, but she decides to come in and take a look at some procedures she hasn't seen in a while, and she gets sucked in with another child who's not doing too well," Wilson says. "But she handles this one considerably differently from some of the children that knocked her off her feet before."
Wilson also says the cast is gearing up for the big wedding of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey).

"We're doing a church [wedding] and we're doing pretty dresses and they've got bridesmaids dresses for Izzie, Cristina and Lexie," she says of co-stars Katherine Heigl, Sandra Oh and Chyler Leigh. "We have a color theme -- we're trying to be semi-traditional."

RATINGS

Fast National ratings for Thursday, April 30, 2009

CBS and ABC staged another close ratings race Thursday, with "CSI" leading the viewer race and "Grey's Anatomy" winning the demographic crown.

CBS averaged a 7.8 rating/13 share in primetime, beating out ABC' 7.0/11. FOX came in third with a 4.9/8. NBC, 3.9/6, finished fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.9/3.

The adults 18-49 title went to ABC, which scored a 3.5 rating in the advertisers' favorite demo. CBS took second at 3.2. FOX and NBC tied for third at 2.5, and The CW earned a 1.3.

"Survivor: Tocantins" put CBS on top at 8 with a 7.1/12. "Bones," 5.5/9, grabbed second for FOX. The return of "Ugly Betty" drew a modest 4.7/9 for ABC, but that was good enough to beat the 3.4/6 average for "My Name Is Earl" and "Parks and Recreation" on NBC. The CW's "Smallville" trailed.

"CSI" grabbed the night's biggest audience at 9 p.m., scoring a 9.6/15. "Grey's Anatomy" was close behind at 9.4/15 and led the hour in adults 18-49. "Hell's Kitchen" came in third for FOX. "The Office," 4.4/7, and "30 Rock," 3.6/6, kept NBC in fourth. "Supernatural" drew a 1.8/3 for The CW.

The season finale of ABC's "Private Practice," 6.8/12, led in households and adults 18-49 at 10 p.m., but a "Criminal Minds" rerun, 6.7/11, drew more viewers to CBS. "Southland" slid some more, scoring a 4.3/7 for NBC.
