SCOOP-AGE & OTHER TRICKSTERS The Ausiello Files --------------------------- --------------------------- Question: Do you have any awesome scoop on what's ahead on Grey's Anatomy? --Jim Ausiello: The wedding taking place in the 100th episode on May 7? It's not Mer-Der after all! The plot thickens! Question: Any news on whether T.R. Knight will get a story this season on Grey's Anatomy? --Craig Ausiello: Remember me telling you last month about a proposed storyline that would find George developing an interest in Owen's specialty as a military/trauma doc? You know, the one ABC insisted had been scrapped and replaced with something even better? Well, my colleague, Jennifer Armstrong, just spoke to Kevin McKidd, and the new story sounds a lot like the old one. "Hunt [will start to] see something in George that no one else has," McKidd revealed. "There's an event that happens and [Hunt] realizes there's a lot more to him... that he has a set of skills that maybe he isn't even aware of. And Hunt starts to mentor him in a way that gets really interesting." Translation: My initial theory about Shonda Rhimes having George join the military and go off to Iraq as a way of accommodating Knight's departure is so happening. Right? Question: Will Cristina and Owen hit the sheets anytime soon on Grey's Anatomy? --Erin Ausiello: Let's ask Kevin McKidd. "A lot happens this week," he said. "I think they’ve drawn that one out a lot, and I know people are getting frustrated. I think it’s good because they've really connected on a mental and emotional level. And now I think it's time they connect physically." (Oh, they're going to connect physically, alright.) http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/03/ask-ausiello--3.html#more --------------------------- Ausiello Spoilers Who's getting married on 'Grey's'? - March 23, 2009 f you've been bummed out by all my end-of-season death charts and suicide blind items, I've got just the pick-me-up for you: Lost and Grey's Anatomy are both heading for weddings! An ABC insider confirms that Lost will begin filming a wedding ceremony later today that is slated to air during the show's two-hour finale on May 13. Who's getting hitched? Here are a pair of clues: Actors of Asian-American descent are being sought to play extras, and the wedding will take place on the mainland, not the island. That pretty much rules out Jack/Kate or Sawyer/Juliet. "One theory is that it's a flashback to Sun and Jin's wedding," whispers a Lost insider. "But the wild rumor is that Sun and Jin's daughter will marry Aaron in the future." Over at Grey's, series creator Shonda Rhimes has already confirmed that one of the show's couples will tie the knot later this season, and there's increasingly loud buzz that the event will take place on May 7, during the show's landmark 100th episode, appropriately titled "Beautiful Day." Adding to the speculation: The episode will feature a minister. The bigger question than when it will happen, of course, is who is walking down the aisle? One source close to Grey's says Derek and Meredith will finally take the plunge -- something a show spokesperson would neither confirm nor deny. Keep in mind, Rhimes said viewers would be surprised by the wedding. What would be so surprising about a Mer-Der ceremony? Ironically, the speed with which it would have taken place. Sure, the star-crossed lovers have been dating for five years, but a May 7 wedding would make for a lightning-fast, seven-week engagement (that's assuming Mer accepts Der's elevator proposal this Thursday, and all indications are that she will). "Shonda is probably counting on fans thinking a Der-Mer engagement would be just as drawn out as their courtship," speculates one Grey's insider. "So to marry them off seven weeks after getting engaged would certainly qualify as a surprise." Do you agree? Would a Mer-Der wedding catch you off guard? Or do you think Rhimes is pulling a bait-and-switch and one of the show's other couples will exchange "I do's"? http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/03/scoop-whos-gett.html?xid=rss-ausiellofiles-Scoop%3A+Who%27s+getting+married+on+%27Lost%27+and+%27Grey%27s%27%3F --------------------------- Ausiello Spoilers Question: What is up with this supposed marriage that will take place at the end of the season on Grey's Anatomy? I'm assuming that a Meredith and Derek wedding would be too rushed. --Dana Version #1 Ausiello: You know what they say about people who assume: They make an a out of ss and ume. I hear Der-Mer will finally make it official in the March 26 episode titled "Elevator Love Letter" (gee, I wonder where he proposes?), so that gives the happy couple about seven weeks to pull something together. That's more than enough time, no? Version #2 — Ausiello: You know what they say about people who assume: They make an a out of ss and ume. I hear Der will finally propose to Mer in the March 26 episode titled "Elevator Love Letter" (gee, I wonder where he pops the question?), so, assuming she accepts, that gives the happy couple about seven weeks to pull something together. That's more than enough time, no? Question: This is my first time asking a question, so, for the sake of a newbie's sanity, could you please give a good Grey's Anatomy spoiler on Cristina/Owen? --Sasha Ausiello: Sorry, but the hazing section of the AA bylaws state that all virgin question-askers must be given an ugly, painful spoiler their first time out. With that in mind, remember me telling you that Owen's PTSD would cause him to physically harm Cristina? Well, that little scratch last week wasn't it. The violence I was referring to comes next week when Owen strangles the you-know-what out of her. Everyone join me in congratulating Sasha on getting her first AA question answered! Question: How long will Izzie's condition remain a secret on Grey's Anatomy? --Tammy Ausiello: Not long. Loose-lipped Cristina blabs all to Bailey and Alex right before she performs her first solo surgery. BTW, can anyone explain to me why on earth Izzie chose to confide in Cristina and not George? I mean, aside from the obvious: It would've required giving T.R. Knight something to do. --------------------------- --------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ask or Watch with Kristen --------------------------- Alpha Male Madness, Round 2: Who's TV's Top Dog? - Mar. 13, 2009 http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b104261_alpha_male_madness_round_2_whos_tvs_top.html --------------------------- --------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ET ---- E!Online --------------------------- Exclusive Scoop with Patrick Dempsey! - Mar 16, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WotMxHMMVU --------------------------- SPOILER: 'GREY'S' DOC HITS 'ROCK BOTTOM' - Mar 25, 2009 Spoiler alert! It's a close call for someone on "Grey's Anatomy" Thursday night. A lethal secret is revealed when the Dr. Owen Hunt tries to strangle his love interest, Cristina Yang, while they're both sleeping at the hospital. Other doctors intervene to save Yang, who's played by Sandra Oh. Kevin McKidd, who portrays Hunt, said that while his character was in Iraq, his platoon of surgeons came under attack and "he's the only survivor." There have been hints that Hunt suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. But until Thursday's episode, he hasn't disclosed the wartime injury to people at the hospital and he had cut off ties with people he knew before. "This is the catalyst," McKidd said, "that is going to push Owen to realize he's hit rock bottom" and needs professional help. http://www.nypost.com/seven/03252009/tv/greys_anatomy_dr__owen_hunt_spoiler_161284.htm --------------------------- 'Grey's Anatomy''s Cristina Gets Strangled! - Mar 25, 2009 Cristina (Sandra Oh) is almost strangled to death, and Izzie (Katherine Heigl) begins the battle for her life when Derek (Patrick Dempsey) is scheduled to perform delicate brain surgery! ET has your sneak peek. Owen Hunt's (Kevin McKidd) PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) almost causes him to kill Cristina when the two docs are sleeping and for no determined reason he begins to strangle her. Callie (Sara Ramirez) intervenes, but will Cristina be able to forgive him this time? Or is their relationship doomed? Then Izzie goes from surgeon to patient as she fights the cancer that has spread throughout her body. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) convinces Derek to return to work, because she feels he is the only one who can perform the delicate brain surgery that Izzie needs. After his drunken state the past few weeks, all eyes are on him as he resumes his surgical career. And Derek proposes one more time, but Meredith isn't ready to commit, saying, "Izzie comes first." http://www.etonline.com/news/2009/03/72179/ --------------------------- Sneak Peeks 3/26 http://spoilertv-greysanatomy.blogspot.com/2009/03/episode-519-elevator-love-letter-3.html http://www.eonline.com/videos/v17530026001__Grey_s_Anatomy__Peek_3_26.html LAPD: T.R. Knight Caused Hollywood Smashup - Mar. 24, 2009 Here's hoping T.R. Knight is in good hands with Allstate. Los Angeles police have determined that the Grey's Anatomy star caused a three-vehicle accident March 19 in Hollywood that sent one woman to the hospital for minor injuries. "He is at fault, but it was just a minor incident," LAPD spokesman Richard French tells E! News. "He was late getting through the intersection." Because no LAPD officer witnessed the crash, Knight will most likely not be cited for the smashup, which is now a case for the parties' respective insurance companies. A rep for Knight has declined to comment on the incident. Authorities said last week that the actor was headed eastbound on Hollywood Boulevard and that the car he hit was going in the opposite direction. http://spoilertv-greysanatomy.blogspot.com/2009/03/episode-519-elevator-love-letter-sneak_25.html --------------------------- Grey's' Gossip: One Wedding, No Funerals? - Mar 25, 2009 Kevin McKidd, aka Dr. Hunt, Dishes About Twists to Come on 'Grey's Anatomy' After five seasons of breakups, makeups and one incredibly cheesy house made of candles, Derek Shepherd and Meredith Grey finally get engaged on Thursday's "Grey's Anatomy." Photo Caption: Surprises await viewers of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" before the season ends.(shows Izzy, Owen, Meredith & Derek) Kevin McKidd, who plays Owen Hunt on the ABC drama, confirms the perfectly coiffed "McDreamy" will break out his mother's engagement ring and present it to Meredith on this week's episode. "Yes," McKidd told ABC News Radio, referring to the proposal. "The last time I looked, that is the case." According to Web reports, Dr. Shepherd won't take a knee at his woodsy trailer or at Joe's Bar, but in an elevator at Seattle Grace Hospital. The episode title, "Elevator Love Letter," does little to convince fans otherwise. Given their rocky past, it's unclear whether the "Grey's" golden couple will actually make it down the aisle. Series creator Shonda Rimes has announced a "surprise" wedding will take place this season but considering the other hot doctor pairs in the cast -- see: Izzy and Alex, Mark and Lexie -- it may not be Meredith and Derek. "We don't know that yet," McKidd said. "Even I don't know that yet." Chances are it won't be McKidd's character, Owen, and Christina Yang (Sandra Oh.) Their budding romance turns rocky Thursday when Owen, an Iraq War veteran, suffers a major post traumatic stress disorder episode. "He basically has a terrible nightmare," McKidd said. "While he's actually still asleep, he injures Christina." McKidd calls it a "rock bottom moment" for Owen, one that prompts him to seek professional help from Derek, who obliges even as he treats Izzy Stevens (Katherine Heigl,) who is battling stage 4 melanoma that has spread to her brain and liver. "It's a very emotional episode," McKidd said. "It's really the first act to what will happen in the rest of the season." Among the burning questions from fans: Will Izzy die? And will Heigl and co-star T.R. Knight leave "Grey's Anatomy" for good? McKidd shoots down the rumored departures, saying, "Everybody's still there. Everybody's got their contracts. Everybody's working and everybody's in every episode that I've read so far." http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/Television/Story?id=7166949&page=1 --------------------------- Mega Buzz on Grey's * Mar 24, 2009 10:01 PM ET Any dish on Grey's Anatomy's most interesting couple, Cristina and Owen? Any chance of them hitting the sheets soon? — Erin MATT: "Interesting" is pretty much how Kevin McKidd summed up his Grey's romance when he dropped by on Tuesday for a video Q&A. Calling the docs' courtship "kind of cool," the Scotsman said, "They're probably more in love than a lot of people on the show, and yet they haven't actually consummated their relationship." Why are they waiting to do the deed, violent PTSD outbursts aside? Says McKidd, "They both know deep down that this isn't just [about] a quickie in the on-call room ... so they're holding out for the correct set of circumstances." As for when said moment might arrive, I will say this: sooner than you think. Source: TV Guide --------------------------- Edited by oncetherewasaway, Mar 26 2009, 04:24 PM.
