PODCAST

PODCAST synopsis thanks to BNSCRUBS at TWOP:
I don't know why I'm doing this. Oh the things that Cristina and Owen have done to me. I haven't listened to a fraudcast since season 3....

So we're going to find out about how to propose to Shonda in this fraudcast. And we're also going to learn a SURPRISING amount of detail about the next episode. Woo.

Why, oh why am I doing this?

They say hi, do their lame introduction. They're talking about how they're keeping to their schedule and that they've done three in a row. Wow. Impressive. Stupid girl rambling. Blah blah blah.

They said that we should agree that this was an episode not to miss. It was 5 years and 97 episodes in the making. They said right off the top of it that Meredith and Derek proposed. The loved the elevator proposal. They talked about the elevator proposal. Shonda hates ooey gooey proposals. Don't use flowers and get down on one knee. She wants to be clear when she says she doesn't want that kind of thing, but the other writers feel the other way. Some of them like that stuff. They start talking about proposing with food, choking on rings, the jumbotron.

Shonda says that she felt like it was a big part of the MerDer relationship. What he's telling is the map of their relationship is the medicine, says that you can map each case back through the series. They're all patients from previous episodes. They wanted something that would reach Meredith. Shonda says they ARE engaged. She's not changing her mind. They're engaged.

No games are being pulled, apparently.

They're still talking about the elevator. Woo. They said we're happy that the storyline is moving forward.

They talk about the happy on that side, but they can't have all happy. They start talking about Cristina and Owen. Cristina feels for Owen, they feel for Owen. They've really talked about it. They've been talking about the PTSD story, how he has a wound that you can't see. They said it was very hard because they've all fallen in love with him. They wanted to be able to do it really. They talk about his sightless eyes because he doesn't know what's happening, and it's heartbreaking. And it's Cristina who has been taking these little babysteps towards these things and how Meredith gets these things delivered to these. Cristina is beginning to take a risk, and realize that once again she's with somebody who's a little damaged is hugely upsetting and moving in comparison in what's going on in Meredith's life. To them it was really interesting. They said their favorite scenes is Cristina saying that he's got war wounds. She wouldn't walk away just because his mind has been shattered. They talk about the beautiful love scene they had. The editor is the same one who killed Denny and the dog. When the whole thing is over, the lovemaking - and it was love making- and you feel like he's asking for her forgivness and she's forgiving him. When she's laying with him and she realizes that she's lying in his arms and she can't sleep that they're hopeless. They want them to be together, they're hopeful for them. They want Cristina to have an incredible victory. She's had a bad year. Through Hahn and Dixon and Meredith fighting, she's had a bad year and they want her to have more.

They start talking about Izzie. She says they're all wearing sunscreen, tells everyone to wear sunscreen. Survival rate for melanoma is incredibly low. Get your moles checked. The thing about the Izzie story is how her friends deal with her sickness. They wanted to tell the story from Alex's perspective. The story is really told from outside Izzie's room, looking in. You see Izzie in the background in her scenes. They're afraid to go in her room. By the time somebody goes in the room, she's in surgery. Nobody goes to see her. Their favorite moment is in the lunchroom. It's a transitional episode. They're heading somewhere.

What you realize from the episode is that you realize how much Alex loves Izzie. He snoojes into the cup. They said they can't use the word sp**ge on national television, so they made up their word. Slooting, jelly patch. They had a few words. Like va-jay-jay.

They love the entire thing of Karev feeling like this isn't the way it's supposed to be. It wasn't the way he imagined it. It's really sweet because he has a little boy quality in that moment. It's horrifying. His girlfriend is going to undergo radical chemotherapy, so he is being asked to j...rk off into a cup for her in case she doesn't die. It's pretty horrific. It's funny, but it's one of the worst things somebody can ask you to do. It's just bad. And the fact that he is like, 'give me the cup' and does it- it's just great. They like when he puts it in front of the Chief. They like when he shows up for Izzie at the end.

They go back to the proposal. They talk about the initial morning proposal, so he put down the ring as he was asking the question and the ring means no. He comes out desperate and it's nice to hear her be the strong one before the surgery. How she tells him it's not okay. When he asks the third time, it's the right way. The beard meant his dark time and he was out of the dark. They like the beard. They thought it was hot. They like clean shaven too. Shonda gets to choose those things. He does participate with her, but it's Shonda's fantasy world.

There's a moment in the episode where Callie admits to Arizona where she admits wishing Izzie would die. You forget the history. She spent all that time wishing that and then she brings George in. They like Callie and Arizona together. They have a good energy. Callie is another girl who needs a break. She's had a rough go of it too. They're rooting for Callie and Arizona.

They're taking a break, there's a lot to chew on. You have to think. You're going to be worried about the proposal. They're going to take some time. We're going to come back on April 23rd with Sweet Surrender. Directed by Tony Phelan. Callie's dad comes to the hospital. We're going to see wedding dresses. Shonda loves the wedding dresses. She's excited about the wedding dresses. There's more than one wedding dress. There's a little something for everybody. There's some surprises. They're going to deal with Derek and Mark not speaking. The next step for Owen. And some other stuff, but you're not going to want to watch it. You'll know it. They don't like spoilers. They're the anti-spoiler. They're the anticipator.

They're signing off.

Oh thank God.
