Casting News - Melissa George - Monday, January 12, 2009
As I taught you long ago, the Golden Globes aren't so much a showcase for award-worthy talent and polarizing fashion as they are a hotbed for exclusive prattle. To wit, shortly after Sunday's kudosfest ended, Melissa George presented me with a doozy of a scoop: She's leaving Grey's Anatomy, STAT.

"It was my choice," the actress-slash-Golden Globe nominee (for In Treatment) confirmed to me at HBO's red-hot after-party, held poolside at the Beverly Hilton. "My last day of work is Tuesday."

But lest you think this is yet another in a long line of rocky Grey's exits (see also: Isaiah Washington, Brooke Smith, possibly T.R. Knight), George, who joined the ABC soap last November as Mer's maybe-gay BFF, is leaving on the best of terms................cont’d

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ exclusive: Faye Dunaway scrubbing in – Jan 11, 2008
Someone's been hiding out at Seattle Grace all these years, and trust me when I say you are never going to believe who it is.
Mommie Dearest -- Faye Dunaway!
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the Oscar winner (for Network), who hasn't taken a small-screen gig since a 2006 episode of CSI, has signed on for at least one episode of Grey's Anatomy to air in February. She'll play a renowned doc at the hospital who crosses paths with the Chief, Cristina and Owen.

Doctors Without Borders
It’s going to be double the drama on Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice’s upcoming crossover episodes. Practice ups the ante beginning February 5 as Addison’s brother Archer (Grant Show), ailing with a brain disorder, returns to the Oceanside Wellness clinic. Then on February 12, two hours of strong medicine and stronger emotions play out when Naomi (Audra McDonald) and Sam (Taye Diggs) accompany Archer and Addison (Kate Walsh ) to Seattle Grace. Nothing far-fetched here: Sam, Naomi and Addison went to college with Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Mark Sloan (Eric Dan) — and it’ll be up to neurosurgeon Derek to correct whatever’s wrong with Archer’s brain. The storyline continues through February 19. Expects some laughs, too, when Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) learns from the alums about a hidden talent her fiancé possessed during his years as a student. I’m told it’s something you’s see at a bad talent show. Please tell me its yodeling.
