Tired and harried. Recurring Guest Star, 3 Episode Arc. [MARGARET] Female, All Ethnicities, 30's, funny, perky & quirky. You instantly like her. Patient in the hospital. Guest Star [DR. DOUGLAS KENLEY] Male, All Ethnicities, 60's, friendly, nice & warm lovely doctor. Co Star Side Summary for Ep 5.11 ..........credit to Crys at Twop So Jackson will be on for a 3 episode arc. The sides are 4 pages long with a few characters. Jackson (patient), Melinda Craig (mother, 30s), Steiner/Scott Grant/Rick Antoine are doctors. Steiner and Melinda go way back. Scene 1 Grant is looking over Jackson's chart. Steiner puts a reassuring hand on Melinda's shoulder and remarks at how big Jackson has gotten. Jackson says he only looks big because Steiner is short to which Steiner says he's always been short. Steiner introduces Dr. (Rick) Antoine to Melinda saying he may be ugly but he's one of the good ones. Grant contines to examine Jackson and tells Dr. Steiner to take Melinda and go through today's procedure. Steiner pulls Rick and Melinda into the hall. In the hall Melinda asks them if they saw how pale he is. While those 3 are in the hall, Grant continues to examine Jackson. Grant has a pocket full of lollipops and Jackson asks him if he's going to let him have a lollipop this time. Grant says not with the way Jackson's stomach has been acting lately which is why he's going to have to cut a piece of it out again. Grant is talking and stops abruptly, he looks green and sits heavily on the bed. Scene 2 -- Grant's dead... Melinda and Steiner are in the hallway outside Jackson's room. Melinda is worried about Jackson even more so now that Grant is dead. Grant was the doctor who had been treating Jackson and Melinda says that people don't understand Jackson's condition. Steiner agrees that Grant was a great doctor who helped so many kids. Steiner tells Melinda that he was in the OR everytime Grant opened Jackson up and he knows the treatment plan. He will personally make sure that Jackson gets someone brilliant to work on him. Melinda is terrified and tears up. Steiner puts and arm around her and says they've been through too much and that they aren't going to drop the ball now. While Melinda and Steiner are having that conversation in the hallway, Rick is drawing blood for Jackson's pre-op labs. Rick says he's sorry about Dr. Grant. Jackson brushes him off saying everyone dies and that he'll soon die too. Rick is surprised at Jackson's pessimism and tells him he's not going to die, he's just sick. Jackson says he's had 12 surgeries, he never gets better, he's not stupid and knows he can't be fixed. Rick says just because they haven't solved it yet doesn't mean he's done, he's still a long way from done. Jackson pulls out a page from his night stand. Jackson wants to be a Wish Kid and needs a doctor to sign the page. He wants Rick to sign it saying Grant was going to sign it before he died. Rick refuses to sign. Jackson insists saying if Rick signs, he [Rick] can help him [Jackson] pick his wish. Jackson shows Rick the wishes other kids have done like go on the trapeze or be in a rodeo. Rick says there's no way Grant was going to sign that because it's for kids with life threatening diseases and Jackson isn't dying, he's just sick. Jackson is mad. Rick calls Jackson 'dude' and says the rodeo smells like horse poo so he isn't missing anything. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would say Dr. Rick Antoine is Alex because he calls the kid 'dude.' Steiner has known Melinda for a while and has been in the OR everytime Jackson has had surgery. Jackson's problem seems to be his stomach and Steiner is apparently also short so that makes me think that this is Bailey. This would likely mean that Bailey and Alex's patient for the next 3 episodes will be Jackson. I'm pretty sure Grant isn't one of our regular castmembers since he/she dies so it could be a random guest star. I also thought that perhaps Grant is Mary McDonnell's character who may have come on the show a few episodes beforehand and she ends her stint when her character dies.
