Medical Stories:

- Priest: One of the interns goes to a priest (Could be George, Izzie or Cristina) The intern asks for forgiveness because he backstabbed his/her best friend- chart topping. Penance is 25 Hail Marys. The intern asks if he should paint the Church or something.

- Hematologist: He is explaining to a patient Perry, who is the bone marrow match for little girl Lily. He is getting the patient ready for an epidural so they can harvest the bone marrow. He tells Perry they are waiting for Perry’s father. Perry tells them not to wait. Perry learns that the little girl is going into kidney failure and knows that that it can’t wait for her epidural to take effect- so she wants the hematologist to do it now. He says NO.

- David & Anne: Come into the Pit because their daughter, Lily has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. Anne starts to cry because the little girl was all ready for the transplant when her donor died. They came to Seattle Grace out of desperation. They can’t wait anymore because Lily has developed a fungal infection.

- Flirtatious Woman: Takes place is Joe’s Bar. It looks like MARK and Joe are talking to this woman. Mark continues to flirt with the woman after Joe walks away. What looks like Addison comes in – Is this seat taken? MARK: thank god you’re here.

- Attractive Business Woman: (Could this be the new character NAOMI?) Takes place in Seattle Grace Elevator. Dr. Thorp (looks like the chief) is in the elevator with Dr. Keller (one of the attendings) behind him. ABW tells Dr. Thorp he has a nice tie. The chief says his girlfriend gave it to him- his ex-girlfriend. ABW pushes the elevator button. The chief continues to attempt to make conversation with ABW. “the break up. It’s amicable. Very friendly. I’m a friendly guy…” ABW runs off elevator.

- Charles Redford: Charles is in his 40s and is on the Olympic Chess Team. Burke and intern come into his room to do an echo. They do the echo while Charles is playing chess with himself. Charles is very sick with a weak heart. He needs a heart-lung transplant. “Chess is the one game you can play with a weak heart.” Burke wants to do a new surgery on Charles. The operation will “join a new heart onto the native heart allowing them to coexist. Sort of like a backup.” It looks like they do the surgery.

- Chuck & Sandy Malone: Parents (in their 60s) of lost Shannon. (Could they be ER/Crush’s parents?) Mr. & Mrs. Malone explain that they haven’t spoken to their daughter in months but they never gotten along with her husband. Her husband left her when he couldn’t understand the demands of her job. The parents wanted Shannon to come live with them to help take care of their grandson- but “she’s always been very independent” Instead, Shannon followed her husband to Portland. They hadn’t heard from her in months until the docs called. The docs ask the parent a few questions about Shannon’s medical condition- her blood type, major surgeries, medical conditions. Parents tell the docs her blood type is A-negative, has asthma and her tonsils out when she was 12. When Mr. Malone is in with Shannon, Mrs. Malone tell docs that she’s looks and sounds the same but is different. That what’s she’s been through has changed her entirely. Mrs. Malone can’t talk to her and heads to the cafeteria leaving Mr. Malone alone with Shannon.

LYRICS

This episode's title refers to a song by Cyndi Lauper.

Time After Time

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick,
and think of you
caught up in circles confusion--
is nothing new
Flashback--warm nights--
almost left behind
suitcases of memories,
time after--

sometimes you picture me--
I'm walking too far ahead
you're calling to me, I can't hear
what you've said--
Then you say--go slow--
I fall behind--
the second hand unwinds

chorus:
if you're lost you can look--and you will find me
time after time
if you fall I will catch you--I'll be waiting
time after time

after my picture fades and darkness has
turned to gray
watching through windows--you're wondering
if I'm OK
secrets stolen from deep inside
the drum beats out of time--

chorus:
if you're lost...

you said go slow--
I fall behind
the second hand unwinds--

chorus:
if you're lost...
...time after time
time after time
time after time
time after time

Ausiello Report - Posted 03/29/07 5:50 PM
Read Farewell, My Friends...
Relax, I'm just going to Mexico for a few days. You're not getting rid of me that easily. I'll be back next Thursday.

In the meantime, there's no need to let the Ausiello Report just sit around and collect dust while I'm gone. I encourage you to use the comments area below to discuss any/all of the big TV stories that I would have brought to you exclusively had I not been lying on a beach somewhere south of the border. Here are some possible scoops that could potentially break (but hopefully won't) whilst I'm out of the country:

• The CW announces that Gilmore Girls will return for an eighth season.
• The CW announces that Gilmore Girls will end in May with a "poignant and whimsical" series finale.
• Isaiah Washington announces he's leaving Grey's Anatomy to focus on his "burgeoning film career."
• Grey's Anatomy announces Isaiah Washington has been let go "for creative reasons."
• Anything about Veronica Mars, Lost, Heroes, Brothers & Sisters, Scrubs, The Shield, Friday Night Lights, Battlestar Galactica, House, etc.
• Keri Russell delivers a baby boy and names him Michael after "her dear friend and former costar."
• Snapple hires a new spokesperson and it's not me.

Now, let me be absolutely clear: I'm not saying any of these stories will break over the next six days, only that they could. And if they do, feel free to talk about them (or anything else, for that matter) below. Your posts will serve as my catch-up guide when my flight lands Wednesday night.

Of course, in a perfect world, the TV biz would hit the pause button until I returned, but as the middling success of October Road can attest to, this world is far from perfect.

Oh, and don't forget: no new Ask Ausiello next week. However, I did manage to shoot a new episode of my Ausiello Report vodcast before I left, and that will go up Tuesday morning, right on schedule. (I don't think I'm overselling it by saying it's gooood.) Adios!

The first of a six episode run of all new Grey's Anatomy begins with a bang. An amazing Izzie revelation, a snotty chief candidate wedging himself between Christina and Burke, and some parents for Jane 'Ava' Doe? All of the key Grey's Anatomy threads are touched on, and the story is pumping on all pistons. As far as Grey's Anatomy episodes go, this was one of the best. .......... VOICE OVERS & QUOTES

Meredith: [voiceover] A patient’s history is as important as they’re symptoms. It’s what helps us decide if heart burn’s a heart attack…if a head ache’s a tumor. Sometimes patients will try to re-write their own histories. They’ll claim they don’t smoke, or forget to mention certain drugs…which in surgery can be the kiss of death. We can ignore it all we want, but our history eventually always comes back to haunt us.

Meredith: [voiceover] Some people believe that without history, our lives amount to nothing. At some point we all have to choose, do we fall back on what we know or do we step forward to something new? It’s hard not to be haunted by our past. Our history is what shapes us…what guides us. Our history resurfaces time, after time, after time. So we have to remember sometimes the most important history is the history we’re making today.

3x20 - Time After Time

(Derek and Richard are in his office)
Derek: I'm sure you felt that you needed to be even handed when you announced that you were looking for someone to take over as chief. Give everybody a shot at the brass ring.
Richard: I did.
Derek: Cam we drop that rouse soon?
Richard: It's not a rouse.
Derek: You promised me the job when I came here. It's why I came.
Richard: No, you came because you're marriage fell apart and you had to get the hell out of...
Derek: We had an understanding and now you're having me jump through hoops with every other attending in this hospital. I hear you're giving Marlow special privileges to do a piggyback surgery.
Richard: This is a teaching hospital, Derek.
Derek: Yeah...my interview didn't go as well as I had hoped. I would like your support with the board. You have my credentials; you know I'm ready.
Richard: I only have one vote.
Derek: It's a strong vote.

(Richard's office)
Richard: Things have changed.
Derek: No, no, nothing has changed. I deserve your support, Richard. Tell me I have it. Tell me I didn't move to Seattle for nothing.
Richard: You moved to Seattle to start a new life and you did. You have a fantastic woman who loves you...
Derek: This is not about my personal life. This is about my career...
Richard: Do you know what being chief will do to your life? Why the hell do you think I'll getting a divorce? Or dying my hair? You can't do it all. Not if you wanna be chief.
Derek: You couldn't do it all.
Richard: And neither can you.
Derek: Don't put your mistake on me. Don't. I am the best candidate for the job. You know it and I know it. And that is the only factor you need to take in consideration. You know, I don't need your protection Richard and I don't want it.
Richard: I'm not trying to protect you Derek. I told Ellis...I promised her that I would look after her daughter.

In the end of S3 Richard gave Der the job but he said he had not learnd from his mistakes yet. He said he belived Richard had and would done differently next time.In this season Richard said he wanted Bailey to be the next chief of surgery. Bailey said she wasn`t his daughter and refused.

Bailey called that "Intuitive Robot" LEO. Leonardo DaVinci. "The Golden Ratio" ? He was one of the most important people that has lived . He was an expert in so many areas.

RECAPS & REVIEWS

In the final scene of last week's "Grey's Anatomy - 04/26/2007
In the final scene of last week's "Grey's Anatomy," chief of surgery Robert Weber (James Pickens Jr.) visited a local bar, trying to rebuild his dating muscles after the end of his long marriage. Horrified to realize he was flirting with a college student, and embarrassed that he let smarmy Dr. McSteamy (Eric Dane) talk him into this plan, the chief was on the verge of bailing when Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) sat down next to him and suggested he ask her to dance. Told by the chief that the bar had no dance floor, she gave him an insouciant grin and said, "So? Ask me anyway," and the pair ended the episode sharing a funky, silly, completely charming two-step, ........ (link below for complete article )

Entertainment Weekly.com - April 20, 2007
Derek 2.0 - McDreamy decides that the real reason he came to Seattle was because the Chief promised him the top job, and Cristina comes clean about being in love with Preston----- Why is it that the wingmen who assault me in bars are never as steamy as Sloane? Last night, the docs of Seattle Grace played a little game of musical chairs — Meredith officially relinquished her position as resident drama queen to Izzie; George picked up Derek's slack as the show's emotionally unavailable husband; and McDreamy became our career-obsessed narcissist du jour as we greeted a newly soft (and manicured) Cristina........
