thanks to Jasmin for transcript

Here's a fairly ( I think) accurate transcript of the mer/der part only:

Very devastated affected by death of patient….

“Couple of episodes he steps back to take a look at things”

Does it excite you to see his darker side like that?

“Absolutely we’ve been very fortunate to have a long run, we’re almost at we’ll hit 100 episodes this year which is phenomenal; yeah; fifth season, so…it becomes…it’s quite a long journey and it’s really hard To keep storylines going, we have a tremendous cast a very big cast, things move slowly so you have to be very patient”

B: ok, I’ve been patient now for five years waiting for you and Meredith to get (it) together

P: Right

B: You know you’re on you’re off – it’s in it’s out

P: Right

B: Now I hear you’re going to propose, are you really going to propose?

P: Yea…we’ve shot that, that episode

B: You are going to propose?

P: and there will be a wedding at the end of this year, so, applause

B: Great

P: so yeah… it’s nice that it’s moving forward finally.

B: How come you can give it away ?

P: “I can give away that much. I’ve been briefed.”

B: You’re actually going to marry Meredith?

P: W…ah…there will be a union between them between them…yes.

Recap #1
Barbara Walters says to Pad*dy that she's waited 5 years for he and Meredith to get together and is he going to marry her and he says YES and they have filmed the engagement scene and there WILL BE a wedding/union!! He giggled. He was pretty happy.

He says Derek is devastated by all his losses and especially the last patient and is very sensitive to it all.

He said that they filmed the engagement, not the wedding he also said that at the end of the season there is going to be a wedding but he doesn't know whose wedding because they haven't filmed it and he does know that far. He also said that there is going to be an union between Mer and Der but he didn't say it was wedding.

Patrick Dempsey At A Loss For Words Over Brooke Smith's 'Grey's' Departure - November 4, 2008
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey found himself at a loss for words earlier today when he taped an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
On Monday, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello was first to break the news that Brooke Smith, who plays cardiac surgeon Dr. Erica Hahn, had been let go from the popular ABC drama. Her departure was announced just weeks after her character discovered she was a lesbian and engaged in a relationship with Dr. Callie Torres, played by Sara Ramirez.

When asked about the decision to let Smith go in the taping for Ellen's Wednesday broadcast, Dempsey turned to a script.
"ABC actually sent me over what I should respond," Dempsey told an inquiring Ellen.

"So ABC's response, this is [what] you should say - 'Brooke Smith has been... We've had a great time working with her and that the conclusion of her has been orgasmic,'" Dempsey said jokingly. "I'm sorry, I'm dyslexic, 'organic ending to the story line.'"
Dempsey said he really wasn't aware of why Smith was let go, but he enjoyed having her character on the show.
"I think her story line has come to an end. Thursday night is her last show, which is too bad," he said. "She has been great character and I don't know what happened with that story line. They decided not to continue it for some reason."

Patrick Dempsey Shoots Versace Campaign? - Fri, 07 December 2007 at 1:55 p
Grey’s Anatomy doc Patrick Dempsey, aka Dr. Derek Shepherd, stopped by the Montrose Hotel in Beverly Hills on Thursday, possibly for a photo shoot.
Was McDreamy shooting his new 2008 Spring/Summer Versace campaign?
Dempsey has said, “It was so lovely to work with Donatella Versace, she is an iconic and inspirational woman and a wonderful person, not to mention what a pleasure it was to work with Mario Testino, too, one of the world’s finest photographers.”
Versace added: “Patrick represents everything that is great about this collection. … He is the modern man of today. He looks fantastic in the clothes.”
After leaving the hotel, Dempsey got a smooch on the cheek from a mystery woman, then hopped into his Porsche and headed to Mr. Chow for lunch.

TV breeds the new male star - December 9, 2007
More careers are getting launched via quality series, and the comfort level is making many actors think twice about jumping to the big screen.
CASTING director Jane Jenkins remembers Patrick Dempsey in his pre-McDreamy doldrums. So did a lot of other people in Hollywood. For no apparent reason, she said, "We had to fight with everyone to hire this guy." In 1989, he had been the romantic lead in "Loverboy"; by 2000, he was the cop in "Scream 3."

Then, of course, "Grey's Anatomy" popped like a Champagne cork.

"It took a hit television series for him to suddenly become everybody's leading man," said Jenkins, co-founder of the Casting Co., a firm that has helped film and television directors narrow down their casting choices for 27 years. Known as sexy neurosurgeon Derek Shepherd on ABC's four-season medical-show phenomenon, Dempsey is now starring in Disney's big-screen hit "Enchanted." Next year, he'll play the romantic lead in Columbia's comedy "Made of Honor.".........more

Patrick Dempsey Heads Home for the Holidays - Posted December 10, 2007 2:30:00 AM
The "Grey's Anatomy" doc talks about his holiday plans, Katherine Heigl's wedding, Dennis Quaid's twins' health scare and his work with Breakaway from Cancer. Before heading home to Maine to spend the holidays with his family, PATRICK DEMPSEY sat down with ET's JANN CARL to talk about Breakaway from Cancer, an organization that raises funds to support people living with cancer, for which he is filming a public service announcement. It was the "Grey's Anatomy" doc's personal experience that led him to become involved with the organization. His mother, AMANDA, is a two-time survivor of ovarian cancer.

"My mom's a very private person, so talking about it is always very difficult, and I respect her privacy about it," he tells Jann. "This is something to honor her a little bit."

As the father of twin boys, Patrick also addressed the medical issue that DENNIS QUAID's two babies went through: "There's nothing worse than hearing your child is going to go through something like that. The person that administered that shot has got to feel horrible. Medical science is not perfect and that's a real tragedy. Hopefully, they will recover, but only time will tell." As mentioned, Patrick, wife JILL, daughter TALLULAH and sons DARBY and SULLIVAN will be spending a white Christmas in New England. "It's the first Christmas with the boys. They'll be walking by then, so we're excited," he says. As a result, he won't be attending his "Grey's" co-star KATHERINE HEIGL's wedding, but he shares, "I am so happy for her. I've never seen her so happy. He's a great guy, too, and they are a great couple."

Anyway......

I typed this out. It is a portion of an interview between the entire cast of Grey’s and Oprah, but this is the PD portion about what he felt about his relationship with Meredith. This was done at the beginning of season three, after episode 308 aired….

OW: Are you happy that you guys are finally…that the characters are finally back together?

PD: Yes. (Oh, I’m sorry, I don’t speak for you.)

EP: It is fun to not be fighting anymore, and be happy for a while.

OW: Aren’t you glad though, aren’t you glad though that they got back together? Because I know a lot of….I do my survey’s everyday, at the end of the show I ask the audience, how did you like the two guys…? We didn’t like that, when there were the two of you competing.

PD: Yeah, right, well, I’m happy that we aren’t competing anymore, too.

OW: Are you really?

PD: Yeah, I think it is nice that we have gone through that phase of the relationship and we are now moving forward, and to see how they can work out their conflicts.

OW: Were you thinking… “Enough already!”

PD: A little bit. Yeah.

Gals---you will like this, its copied from outthere but is a Q&A with PD.

Most Erotic Body Part?
"The outline of a woman's hips. Remember the scene in The Unbearable Lightness of Being where Lena Olin is sitting backward on that wooden chair and you can see her hips on either side? Ooh."

Lingerie Or Naked?
"Lingerie can be too staged, like you're trying too hard. And anything obvious is not sexy. I like fine clothes with no underwear underneath, so you can see the outline. Then you eventually get to naked, which is beautiful."
Sexiest Material Against the Skin?
"Fine sheets or cashmere sweaters. Hey, do they make cashmere sheets? Because that would be great."

Bombshell or Brain?
"Brain, definitely. A good conversation is a form of making love, especially when you're opening up to each other. You reveal as much as you do during sex."

Love or Lust?
"Lust is far too dangerous. Love is constant. But the best thing by far is to be lusty in love."

Roses or Wildflowers?
"Lilacs. One sniff and im transported back to my childhood in Maine."

Old Friend or Complete Stranger?
"There's something exciting about the idea of not having a clue as to who a person is. You meet on a street in France, you spend one amazing night making love, and you never see each other again."

Bath or Shower?
"I have a rain showerhead. It's like your in a waterfall."

Now don't that make you smile?May 02 @ 01:22 PM - by: knappmom3
