Patrick Dempsey was the guest via phone. Patrick said he just got back from England doing a movie. He went to Goodwood and met Sterling Moss. He also went to the Grand Prix. Patrick got into racing from his dad. His dad watched races such as Daytona and any races that were televised back in the 70s. His dad was a car owner in short track races. Patrick went to a racing school in Atlanta and met his partner Joe Foster. Patrick is a car owner in several series. If he could drive anything, Patrick said he would like to drive the Lemans 24 hours race in Daytona. Patrick has signed a deal with Mazda and will run the 24 hour race in Daytona. Jr said if he ever needs a co-driver, he will be right there. They asked Patrick if he ever had a dream race where he could compete against a guy one on one, who would it be. Patrick gave various names such as Fongio (sp?), Schumacher, Andretti, AJ Foyt and Richard Petty. Jr talked about being on the track with Richard Petty recently and he can finally said he was on the track with Richard. Jr said the first time he was on the track in a Busch race, he pulled on pitroad next to Terry Labonte and he was almost scared to go on the race track. Patrick is from Maine and got his first break in a play by Harvey Firestein in NY. Patrick is a racer, actor and father and was asked what he would like his kids to be. Patrick said it is hard but he wants to allow them to do what they want. Steve asked what Patrick drives and he said a GT3RS brand new and a 1954 XK120. He has a bunch of cars that he rotates in and out. Each cars puts him in a good mood. They asked what car he would like to have and he said a Goling Mercedes or Jim Clark's F1 car but as a contemporary car would be a Porsche. Jr said the next car he will get is a Mercedes pace car from the F1 series. It is a CLK black series Mercedes. Josh said he was reading People Magazine one time and they asked Patrick who he would like to trade places with for one day and he said Jr. Patrick said he was at Texas Motor Speedway when he was asked the question. They asked him why he would want to be Jr and he said Jr has handled himself so beautifully for so many years. He is a champion on a lot of levels. He is just normal, down to earth and has gone through a lot in his life. He has made a lot of success on his own and Patrick thinks this is remarkable. He said Jr is at the center of a lot of stuff and he remembers seeing a documentary where Jr is looking out his hauler because he just couldn't go anywhere. Patrick thinks he is an amazing guy and handles his success and position really well. Steve thinks Patrick's life is pretty good with a GT Porsche and a lot of chicks following him.
