Member #23 Joined: October 25, 2006	I know there is a "reasons Derek won't cheat" thread, but let's start a list of things JUST FROM Season 3 that we can point to that say that Derek and Meredith will be OK...... 1. "I will always show up. Even if I yell. Even if you yell. I will always show up." - merdermaid 2. She's worth it. - Merdertruelove 3. He dove into frigid waters after her. - Merdertruelove 4. The speech he gave to Ellis. - Merdertruelove 5. He was a freakin' wreck when he thought she was dying. - McCookie_Monster 6. Addison to Mark watching Mer and Der after she was revived: "He never felt that way about me."- McCookie_Monster 7. He listens to her breathe.- Merdertruelove 8. She's more important than his job.- Merdertruelove 9. "I'm in love with you. I've been in love with you for...ever." *insert cute bashful smile here- McCookie_Monster 10. He admitted he was wrong for choosing addison. - Merdertruelove 11. Do you want to get married . . . with "Liar" playing in the background.- merdermaid 12. He wanted her to know him.- Merdertruelove 13. She did nothing even near close to "deserving" it (him cheating).- McCookie_Monster 14. The promo is leading us to believe that Derek is going to cheat on Meredith. Very rarely do promos actually point us in the right directions. Main example...Meredith's pregnancy scare. 2. We already have George and Izzie cheating. And destroying things with Callie. I don't see them doing two cheating plots at once. 3. Shonda recently said that she was going to have fun with pairing but that the main couples would always exist. Mer and Der are the main couple. If Derek cheated...that would kill them. 4. Kristin!! She said that the death was going to bring them closer together. And yes, right now it doesn't seem like that. At all. But we still have 2 episodes left. We have that spoiler to cling to. 5. This one is a stretch...*** said that a couple was going to break up. To me him saying A couple had to mean something....he's really good at revealing things in sneaky ways. So to me that really means that maybe only one couple is breaking up but no more. And with the issues that every other couple have right now...do you really think it would be Mer/Der? 6. Character assassination. If Derek cheats on Meredith everything he has ever said, everything that's ever been said about him, goes flying out the window. FLYING. 7. Patrick Dempsey would be BEYOND angry at that plot line. And honestly....he's the shows biggest flight risk. At this point he could leave the show and have a successful career. Would they risk that? 8. We're not at the finale. We all know stuff is going to go down in the finale, stuff that changes everything. Last season we went from the *** comment to sex in the exam room. Something HAS to happen. 9. It would destroy everything. This is Shonda's fairytale....the knight in shining whatever can't cheat on the princess. McDreamy is supposed to be the perfect man. The perfect man doesn't cheat on his soulmate. 10. Unredeemable. If Derek cheats Shonda would never be able to make the fans think that him and Meredith should be together. She'd kill Mer/Der.
