Grey's Anatomy only has one new episode left, which airs on January 10. When we last left the staff of Seattle Grace, Lexie was unable to save Nick, a patient who she had started to make a connection with. Bailey's husband gets sick of waiting for her to have time for him and their son. Derek kisses Rose and Meredith tells him that she doesn't want him seeing anyone else, unaware of what has happened. After a tough day at work, Meredith and Lexie spend some time together. This next episode picks up where we left off. Check out what's coming up on Grey's Anatomy. WARNING! George's mom comes to the hospital to visit and bring baby clothes cause she thinks Callie and George are having trouble getting pregnant. but of course she runs into Izzie and she spills the beans about them having sex and George failing his inter test. Izzie runs off saying she is sorry. but Mrs. O'Malley is very upset! They are Catholic and they don't believe in divorce and they certainly don't believe in adultery. that's all i have on them. Dr. Bailey is very busy with the hospital that she never has time to call back her husband tucker. when she finally does answer the phone she tells him she doesn't have time for him cause she is being paged to the ER and tucker tells her that he is the one paging her. she finds out that baby tuck has been taken in cause he was crushed by a bookcase. and has multiple rib fractures. okay so here is the mer and der stuff its jumps from scene to scene. Mer Between yesterday and today, you had plans drawn up? Der Ive had the plans for months. Between yesterday and today, i decided to share them with you. Mer ...Why? Derek looks at her. Der so nothing's changed. everything is exactly the same as it was. Mer No, Its -- Its a lot.--Its a lot and its really fast and-- Der I'm trying to take the next step. I (and I'd guess many) completely agree with your assessment. My concern is with how much the Powers That Be (TPTB) pay attention to the Internet messages boards. I know that some who post in one Mer/Der thread I read constantly speak for the "fans" like they mean all fans, but that's not true. Many people like Derek and do not need medication to watch. I worry that TPTB may pay attention to the obsessive 'shippers and modify storylines based on a small percentage of the fan base. Please tell me this is not the case! Personally, I want to see stories that are planned, not dictated by a small group of obsessed fans.— Betty Matt Roush: If Grey's Anatomy were being controlled by the more vocal critics of its Internet "fan" base, do you think the George and Izzie storyline would have kept going as long as it did? I don't think so. By its very nature, Grey's is going to aggravate fans and critics in how it manipulates its characters in and out of relationships. Some work, some don't, but the show has to keep breaking stories (when it's actually in production) or these very same fans will likely gripe about how boring it's become. That's the downside of being a long-running hit. Question: 1) I was surprised by your encouraging piece on Grey's Anatomy's last episode. Even though I was moved by Bailey and Derek's scene (and good performances by both actors), I was majorly disappointed by Bailey's voiceover. The tone was way overdone and forced, and the script... was so bad I wondered if the writers were already striking. While I'm losing much interest in the "older" characters (save for Cristina — I just wish she'd gotten a real storyline this season, and Alex, who I'd always thought was an interesting guy), I now look to the secondary characters (Dr. Hahn, who's been a wonderful addition to the cast; Callie, who I also wish could have a real storyline; and even Sloan, who I thought had been boring previously) to entertain me. Is it just me, or are the primary players getting a tiny bit stale? 2) Friday Night Lights! When do we get to see Landry and Matt as BFFs again? That's been sorely missing this season. Not to mention all the male bonding that's been going on between the (ex-)Panthers. As much as I love this show and will continue to support it, I do get a bit worried because all the storylines this season seem so much more "scattered" and unorganized, not to mention a bit over-the-top soap opera/teen drama'ish at times (I don't think I need to mention which storylines I'm describing). 3) Can I ask if that's your real youth picture in the "Who Shot Ausiello?" vodcast? What a good sport!— Belly Matt Roush: 1) Regarding Grey's: Familiarity breeds contempt. I can think of few truer clichés. Your surprise that I could find something nice to say about Grey's Anatomy is one of the most discouraging things I've read in weeks. 2) If you remember high school the way I do, it's hardly uncommon for even close friends to drift apart, especially when you get caught up in your own life (rarely as eventful as what happened to Landry this season). The "scattered" nature of the show feels a lot like life to me. The moment someone gripes to me that Smash is being underused, he takes center stage. I imagine (hope) we'll be getting some juicy Saracen stories again soon, even if Landry isn't a part of them. 3) Being a good sport had nothing to do with that photo surfacing in the opening credits of "Who Shot Ausiello?" I was as surprised (and, eventually, amused) as anyone. Mike's producers had to dig pretty deep in the photo archive to come up with that one — which dates back to my first job out of college, at a Florida newspaper, where I eventually had to grow facial hair to be treated like a grownup. Which it isn't. Is it perfect? No. Has it improved from last season? Yes. This is a show about messed-up people who make lots of mistakes, both personally and professionally, many of which aggravate fans, which I understand. And last season unquestionably shifted the balance from romantic tragicomedy to an overload of unpleasant angst. But most of these characters are still incredibly appealing and played by genuine stars, and I still find myself caring what happens to them more often than not, especially in recent weeks. I'm pretty sure that after the long drought that's facing us in the uncertain months ahead, when Grey's Anatomy eventually returns, it will be welcomed back enthusiastically. "They [ABC] shot it after we walked out," Rhimes told The Post yesterday while walking the picket line in front of Paramount Studios in L.A. "I've never not been in the editing room," she said. "It's been a very weird transition." Rhimes also said that although she hasn't written a single line since the strike began she keeps thinking about her characters - they never leave. Member #23 Joined: October 25, 2006	[size=7]SYNOPSIS[/size] Lay Your Hands on Me \| Air Date: 01/10/2008 Miranda's husband, Tucker, chooses not to speak to her until she's ready to leave for work. She tells him she doesn't have time to discuss their relationship. Mark tries to tell Derek how hot Erica was for him the night before but finally admits it wasn't a date with Erica, but that Callie was there too. Derek shows Mark the breathtaking hilltop that's the site of his future house. Derek tells Meredith about the house he's planning and asks for her opinion since it's for both of them. She drops an egg -- she's making breakfast for Lexie since she had a bad night. Meredith dodges the question of moving in with Derek while everyone else tries to pretend they like her terrible cooking. It's worst for Lexie, who eats the eggs, even though she's allergic! Callie and Eric bond in the elevator about how much fun they had the night before, which is rare since neither one of them like "people." The elevator doors open and there stands Mark. "Case in point," laughs Erica. Izzie tells Alex she dreads going into work since she's been on cardio rotation with Erica. She admits she's jealous of Cristina's confidence in herself and her career. When Izzie passes on cardio rotation for the day, Erica chooses Alex over Cristina. Cristina points out she knows everything about Erica's aortic dissection case, a woman named Elizabeth, but what she doesn't know is where that patient is. Elizabeth is found standing over another patient whose breathing has been irregular. She collapses, but the other patient miraculously stabilizes. Elizabeth informs them she's a faith healer. She keeps stalling her own heart surgery until her healing "team" arrives. She wants Erica to talk her through her own surgery so she can visualize it and heal herself without actually being cut open. Erica instructs Alex to do the talking-through and to page her when Elizabeth inevitably codes. Tucker keeps calling Miranda at the hospital and she keeps telling him it's a bad time. Finally, he pages her. She scolds him until she sees him in the E.R., with Tuck. One of them forgot to close the baby gate and Tuck fell down the stairs, badly injuring himself. Tuck's ruptured his appendix and his stomach is pushed up around his heart. Erica is called in to operate. Everyone is understandably alarmed but Cristina tells them they can't think of the boy as Miranda's child, but as just another trauma case. Izzie brands Cristina a "robot" for being so unfeeling. Miranda begs to be in on the surgery but Erica orders her out. When Miranda pleads to be able to hold her boy's hand, Cristina hands her scalpel to Lexie and promises to hold his hand herself and Miranda finally agrees to leave. Even when Erica offers to let Cristina take over an important step in the surgery, she refuses and continues to hold Tuck's hand. George's mother shows up at the hospital with baby clothes: Last she heard, Callie and George were trying for a baby. Izzie mistakenly admits all -- including the infidelity and breakup and George failing his intern exams -- to Mrs. O'Malley, who is crushed. She wants him and Callie to go into counseling, as they're Catholics who don't believe in divorce, but George tells her it's too late. Callie tells Mrs. O'Malley she no longer believes in marriage, or God, but that she believes in second chances. She also says she loved being an O'Malley, even for a little while. George convinces his mother that his marriage is really over, but admits that he's disappointed in himself. She asks him to move back in with her so she can take care of him and he says it's time he started taking care of himself. George overhears Rose and Derek talking about their kiss and how it wasn't a big deal. He tells Meredith about it, hoping to reassure her, not realizing that she doesn't even know who Rose is. She asks Derek about Rose and is astonished to learn he was kissing Rose yesterday and all but proposing to Meredith today. She says this is why she can't ever trust him. He accuses her of always finding reasons not to trust him and announces he can't deal with her anymore. They break up, seemingly for good this time. The surgery on Tuck is a success, but there's still fluid around his heart. Richard persuades a distraught Miranda to have Elizabeth lay her hands on the baby. A bitter Tucker, who blames Miranda for the accident, is skeptical but Elizabeth encourages them to hold hands and forgive each other. Tuck improves dramatically. Alex's skepticism, meanwhile, troubles Elizabeth and she tells him that he's "blocked," and that he was a nice boy but something terrible must have happened to him because he's turned into a not very nice man. He's shaken by her insight. He still doesn't believe in the faith healing, but he grabs Izzie and tells Elizabeth she'll be perfect since she's full of light and hope, unlike him. Izzie is touched by his confidence in her and talks Elizabeth through the complicated operation. George tells Lexie he's getting his own apartment and he'll need a roommate. Erica is tired of Mark's constant attempts to hit on her and tells him what a jerk he is. Later, she relents, saying that if they weren't working together, there might be a possibility, but since they are, there's no chance. She and Callie are going out for drinks and he offers to come with them, but Erica just smiles and tells him good night. Derek asks Rose out to dinner. She says she thought he wasn't free, and he replies, "Turns out I am."
