Theresa- 30 something woman who runs in holding her baby. She obviously rushed in since she is wearing a nightgown and is crying. She tells the doctors that she was carrying the baby down the stairs and she fell. During the fall the baby hit her head, and while she was crying before she is now eerily silent. Teresa is terrified, and at first refuses to hand the baby to Dr. Smith. Finally, she is convinced to hand the baby over and Dr. Smith tells her that the baby is just sleeping, but needs a neuro consult. Teresa hugs Dr. Smith, only to fall to the floor. Dr. Smith calls for a crash cart - Teresa is not breathing. Sean - Teresa's husband. Rugged mechanic. Dr. Martin tells Sean that the baby's CT was fine, but there were some things they want to keep an eye on. Sean tells Dr. Martin that he cannot even concentrate, since his wife is about to go into surgery and he needs to go be there with her. Before he leaves Dr. Gardner stops him and asks him the baby's name since they need it for the records. He tells them that they didn't pick one out, but they did have a nickname for her - Carl! He head mechanic where he works is bald like the baby, so it became an inside joke between them. Something happens that isn't included in the sides, since later we see Sean approach Dr. Gardner while she is eating her lunch. He's apologizing for something he said or did, but Dr. Gardner dimisses saying that he was under stress and she understands. He then tells Dr. Gardner that he and Teresa struggled to get the money to have the baby, and now they only get to enjoy it for one week and then this happens, he's back in struggle. He also says that he cannot raise the baby alone, the baby needs its mother. He simply cannot do this without his wife. Jane, Don, & Brian - Jane and Don are an arguing married couple and Brian is their eight year-old son. Brian has swallowed pennies while Jane left him unattending shopping online Don angrily informs the medical staff, and Jane retorts that if Don was home once in awhile he would see what she was buying. Brian tells Dr. Keller that it was only one penny and Dr. Keller tells them it just has to pass. Brian uses the situation to make them promise to stop fighting They return later on and with Brian, who is doubled over in pain. Turns out that he has eaten MANY pennies, and Brian is in serious danger. While Brian is sleeping, Dr. Keller comes over to Jane and tells her that Brian will have a long recovery but he will be fine. Jane tells Dr. Keller that she and Don never should have gotten married - there was an instant attraction and they wound up in bed together and stayed there basically the whole summer. That, she says, is where it should have ended. Still, she cannot leave him because the sex is still so good. She asks him if he knows how hard it is, to give up the one person you want most in the world. Harriet - A 40 something woman who is in for a chin procedure. Dr. Jackson is working with Dr. Green. He begins to explain the procedure, but what she wants is a procedure that will make her look like Dr. Green who is very pretty. Harriet continues, pointing out that Dr. Green is already getting worry lines and asking what she has to worry about. Dr Green says she has nothing to worry about. She also points out that Dr. Green now has a scowl and is getting frown lines and advises her to fix whatever is wrong in her life quickly since it is making her ugly. Dr. Green comes in after the surgery and tells Harriet to get up and mobile, but Harriet tells her no and to stop scowling at her - she tells Dr. Green that she is getting uglier by the second. On a happier note, the Chief did get a new girlfriend tonight. Okay, so that's not entirely true, but it was funny how Mark suggested that's what Derek had become. I'm loving the chemistry between all three of these guys, who remind me of schoolboys at recess the way they playfully tease and taunt one another. Says Meredith in voice-over: In terms of human chemistry, either you’ve got it … or you don’t. We guess we’re meant to assume that George and Izzie don’t. (Haven’t we been saying that for, like, years? Yes, we have.) But as always, it’s the patients and their illnesses that teach the life lessons here. So without further ado … Izzie gets: A grouchy post-op plastic-surgery patient who keeps telling Izzie to go out and have some fun. Because the patient’s a huge pain, she’s put in a room with Gerry, a guy who can’t seem to “crap” (his word, not ours) and who’s also giving the doctors a hard time. What it means: Izzie is not having any fun with George. They keep having terrible, awkward sex — George even chips his tooth at one point! Although that’s not surprising, given that Katherine Heigl's head is twice the size of George's entire body. The outcome: The annoying patients get busy in their recovery room, bandages and all. Member #23 Joined: October 25, 2006	[size=7]SYNOPSIS[/size] Physical Attraction... \| Air Date: 11/08/2007 George and Izzie finally have sex -- and it's horrible! Izzie despairs that they don't have chemistry anymore and tries everything, including booze, to get it back. Mark jokes that Derek is the Chief's girlfriend when he finds out he's running errands like dry cleaning for him and spending his evenings having dinner and a movie with the Chief. Mark takes offense when Derek tells him he has no chance with Erica since Mark "has no substance." Callie pleads with Miranda to take over her scheduling duties because she just wants to do surgeries, which make her happy. Miranda agrees and her advice includes counseling Cristina to find a new specialty when Erica kicks her off the cardio rotation. Cristina scrubs in on a bone surgery with Callie but misses the finesse of heart surgery. A distraught mother comes in: she dropped her baby in a fall down the stairs and doesn't know if it's breathing. The baby is fine but the mother collapses with broken ribs and a collapsed lung. The father arrives and is too busy focusing on his wife to bother with the baby, whom they had just adopted and hadn't even given a name to yet. He tells Lexie if his wife doesn't make it, he's going to give the baby back since he can't raise her on his own. Lexie is upset because she'd been making progress in her relationship with Meredith and after finding out about her tryst with Alex, Meredith won't speak to her anymore. Alex says he's up for sex anytime but suggests they not meet at her house, to avoid Meredith. Alex and Meredith are stuck outside their house while Izzie and George try to jump start their chemistry, and just then Lexie shows up to ask Alex out for a drink. Meredith chews her out, telling Lexie to get her own friends and her own life. Lexie says she'll wait for Alex at the bar. Alex asks Meredith why any of this matters to her, since she supposedly doesn't care about Lexie at all. While Erica operates on the woman with the collapsed lung, Lexie asks Meredith if the patient is going to make it, since the fate of the baby rests on the outcome and Meredith points out she's busy. Lexie sits with the husband while they wait for news about his wife. Meredith updates the husband on his wife's progress and then adds, obviously because of Lexie's intervention, that while his wife bonded instantly with the baby, maybe the husband needs a little more time for them to feel like a family. The man admits that he knows five things about the baby, a lot more than he thought he did. Unfortunately, Erica is unable to save the wife's badly damaged lung and she dies. The husband comes to see the baby and says he's remembered a sixth thing and he's going to name her Keshia, because that's the name her mother had chosen. Richard gets suspicious that Miranda's really been the one behind all the recent scheduling and advice and she demurs, telling him to ask Callie about it. He catches up with Callie, who says she's busy with surgery, but that she'll "get on" the schedule tomorrow. He tells her there's no need. Richard informs Miranda that he knows she's been doing the job of Chief Resident but getting none of the credit. He tells her she deserves the credit and the job and that he should have given her the job in the first place because she's the one who makes the hospital work. "It's about time you noticed," says says and breaks into tears before hugging him. Lexie asks Alex to meet her later in the on-call room and he turns her down, saying he doesn't want to get between her and Meredith. Lexie goes to see Meredith and tells her five things about herself, saying she hopes that makes it harder for Meredith to hate her. At Joe's, Mark offers to buy Erica a drink, telling her how much he admires her technique as a surgeon, and she tells him he's only attracted to her skill, but not to her. And that she's not attracted to him. Alex tells Meredith he's broken things off with Lexie, who's passed out in her seat at Joe's and Meredith asks Alex to take her sister home. When they get there, Lexie's dad comes out. He's drunk and about to drive to the store for more liquor. Alex offers to run the errand for him and Lexie begs him not to tell Meredith. George and Izzie bask in the glow of good sex -- until they realize the other one is lying and it's still as bad as ever.
