Source: SpoilerTV Episode 5.21: No Good at Saying Sorry (One More Chance) Airdate: April 30, 2009 * new 04/17 - Thatcher Grey and Sharon Lawrence as Izzie's mom are both slated to appear in the April 30 episode, which was written by Anatomy maestro Krista Vernoff. And the two men in Ellis Grey's life (the Chief and Thatcher Grey) finally kinda throw down, and Izzie turns out to be a chip off the old block. Her mom, Robbie, is extremely chipper, like a less evil Tracy Flick. Source: Kristin on E!Online * new 04/17 - Does McSteamy "do" parents? That's the big question in the April 30 episode, when a now-sober Thatcher Grey invites his daughter and her new beau out to dinner. [...] A source tells me that on Mer and Der's wedding day, airing May 7, the groom gifts his bride with her first solo surgery. Source: TV Guide Online * 04/13 - As preparations continue for Meredith and Derek's wedding, Izzie receives a surprise hospital visit from her handful-of-a-mother, Robbie. Meanwhile, a newly sober Thatcher visits his daughters, Meredith and Lexie, in order to make amends, and the Chief and Meredith bitterly fight over a controversial medical case. Guest starring Sharon Lawrence as Robbie, Jessica Capshaw as Dr. Arizona, Jeff Perry as Thatcher, Kellie Martin as Julie, Nina Siemaszko as Kate and Megan Henning as Willow. Source: ABC * 04/05 - You know how when sad dad Thatcher Grey swings by Seattle Grace, he almost always stirs up some sort of trouble, angst and/or agita? Amazingly, his April 30 visit will bring Meredith and Lexie closer together. Source: TV Guide Online Episode 5.22: Beautiful Day (100th episode) Airdate: May 7, 2009 * new 04/17 - [From an email sent to Kristin:] "One of my coworkers was in Los Angeles on business, and when I called her and told her about Grey's filming the wedding scene, she freaked and found the set. She was there for the lunch break (she said there were two or three paps there too) but she said later Katherine Heigl was standing in the doorway with T.R. Knight , and she was smoking in a wedding dress. She had a big jacket/robe thing over it, but she said there was no doubt it was a wedding dress. She said Katherine was only in the doorway a minute or two before they called her back in, but she has no doubt that it was a wedding dress." Source: Kristin on E!Online * 04/13 - And as reported by Shonda Rhimes herself, Derek and Mer are supposed to be getting married in the upcoming 100th episode, and Izzie's dying wish is to give them the wedding she may or may not be able to ever have herself. Source: Kristin on E!Online * 04/13 - Via his Twitter account, Ausiello gave two clues regarding the wedding: It's not **e* and ***s***a. It's not *** C***f and A***e. Source: Ausiello's Twitter Account [Note: The first clue seems to be "It's not Owen and Cristina. As for the second one, it may be "It's not the Chief and Adele.] * 04/05 - The wedding taking place in the 100th episode on May 7? It's not Mer-Der after all! Source: The Ausiello Files * 04/05 - At a party marking the filming of Grey's Anatomy's 100th episode, series creator Shonda Rhimes confirmed that the milestone hour will air May 7 - and indicated that it might feature the nuptials of the show's central couple. "The only thing I'll tell you about the 100th episode is that it takes place on Meredith and Derek's wedding day," Rhimes told the Associated Press at the show's celebration. "That's big," Rhimes underscored, "and that's all I'm going to say." Of course, were one to be hyper-analytical and parse words, it's not for certain that the Mer-Der wedding goes without a hitch. For one, it would represent a mighty short engagement (he will have only non-proposed six weeks prior). Secondly, this is Meredith and Derek we are talking about. Thirdly and perhaps most importantly, Rhimes has previously said that the wedding taking place toward season's end would be a "surprise." Now, is that "surprise" as in the aforementioned short engagement or "surprise" as in the couple that emerges at the end of the aisle is not the same one that started down it? Source: TV Guide Online * 04/05 - Over at Grey's, series creator Shonda Rhimes has already confirmed that one of the show's couples will tie the knot later this season, and there's increasingly loud buzz that the event will take place on May 7, during the show's landmark 100th episode, appropriately titled "Beautiful Day." Adding to the speculation: The episode will feature a minister. Source: The Ausiello Files * 02/08 - Nathan, a male intern is eager to impress the doctors. He brags about doing a chest tube correctly on his first try. Later, he is upset because he thinks he may have killed a baby during a procedure. A female doctor will reassure him that the baby will be fine. Source: SpoilerFix.com * 11/20/2008 - Nathan: Male intern, mid 20's, Bi-racial (African American & Caucasian). He is smart and funny; a boy next door type. Recurring Guest Star. Source: SpoilerTV Episodes 5.23 and 5.24: Here's to Future Days (Season? finale) Airdate: May 14, 2009 from 9 to 10 p.m. * new 04/17 - At last night's Big Bang Theory event at PaleyFest '09, leading lady Kaley Cuoco revealed to EW exclusively that she's Seattle Grace-bound. "I am working on Grey's Anatomy next week," she confirmed. "It is a big ol' secret. I have no clue what I am doing. I swear on my life that I have no idea what I am playing because it is the finale and they are keeping it under wraps until the last possible moment." Source: The Ausiello Files * 04/13 - [Shonda] Rhimes has tapped two of my favorite actresses on the planet, Everwood's Debra Mooney and Gilmore Girls' Liza Weil, to guest star in the show's two-hour season finale on May 14. Mooney will play mom to Kevin McKidd's emotionally tormented Owen, while Weil will appear as a cancer patient who crosses paths with Izzie. [...] A Grey's insider is now confirming what I previously predicted: George will not only march off to war, but he'll be wounded (perhaps mortally) in the line of duty by season's end. [...] leaving his fate up in the air for viewers -- and even Knight himself. "T.R. doesn't know whether George lives or dies," explains a source close to the show. "And, as a result, he doesn't know whether or not he has to come back next season." Source: The Ausiello Files * 04/13 - At this point, our best guesstimate on the finale is that Izzie goes into remission (but the producers keep Katherine Heigl in line with the threat of new malignancies), while George joins the Army medical corps, sending him into the sunset in a way that keeps him available for sweeps-week guest spots if they can afford his fee. Source: Kristin on E!Online * 04/05 - Remember me telling you last month about a proposed storyline that would find George developing an interest in Owen's specialty as a military/trauma doc? You know, the one ABC insisted had been scrapped and replaced with something even better? Well, my colleague, Jennifer Armstrong, just spoke to Kevin McKidd, and the new story sounds a lot like the old one. "Hunt will start to see something in George that no one else has," McKidd revealed. "There's an event that happens and Hunt realizes there's a lot more to him... that he has a set of skills that maybe he isn't even aware of. And Hunt starts to mentor him in a way that gets really interesting." Translation: My initial theory about Shonda Rhimes having George join the military and go off to Iraq as a way of accommodating Knight's departure is so happening. Right? Source: The Ausiello Files * 04/05 - In the second-to-last episode of the season, we'll meet Ronnie, a "heartwarming" trailer-trash woman in her mid-to-late 40s, and the producers only want star names to play the part. Izzie famously grew up in a trailer park. Could this be her mother, come to Seattle to take her ailing daughter home? Source: Kristin on E!Online * 04/05 - Sarah: 60s, Caucasian, Irish looking, working class mom. Jordan's Mother: Early to mid 50s, Caucasian, upper class parent of patient in the hospital. Jordan's Father: Early to mid 50s, Caucasian, upper class parent of patient in the hospital. Jordan's Boyfriend: Mid to late 20s, all ethnicities, boyfriend of patient in the hospital. Recruiting Officer: In his 40s to 50s, all ethnicities, an officer who looks straight off of a military recruiting poster. Good looks, and tough. Recruiting Clerk: In his mid 20s, all ethnicities. Military clerk at the recruiting office. Source: SpoilerTV General Spoilers: * 04/05 - [Cristina and Owen] are far from over. As Kevin McKidd himself told EW's Jennifer Armstrong, the exes will be thrown "a huge curveball that neither of them see coming. Just as he starts to get over his thing, something else happens. Which is good and bad. It's like, 'Oh my God, this is big.' It will be interesting to see how it leads into next season." Source: The Ausiello Files * 02/27 - The show may be giving Meredith another long-lost sibling -- this one a byproduct of her mother's affair with the Chief. Source: The Ausiello Files * 02/23 - The latest Grey's Anatomy rumor making the rounds has Shonda Rhimes mulling a bait and switch that would find terminally ill Izzie living and George dying. Source: The Ausiello Files * 02/12 - According to inside sources who work on Grey's, it is likely that Heigl and Knight will make an exit at the end of the current season. Both have asked to leave the show. However, ABC needs to sign off on letting them out of their contracts, which has not been done. Source: Kristin on E!Online [Note: Shonda Rhimes claims Heigl and Knight are not leaving the show.] * 12/04/2008 - A source close to the show tells me, "The reason [the actor] has not been on is because [he or she] has been a pain in the ass lately, trying to change scenes and dialogue, being hard to work with and putting up an attitude. The higher-ups were getting tired of it, so they tweaked [him or her] out of some episodes. That's why you haven't really seen [him or her] lately." A second source seconds that emotion: "[He or she] is not really getting along too well with producers right now." Source: Kristin on E!Online Edited by oncetherewasaway, Apr 18 2009, 11:03 AM.

SCOOP-AGE & OTHER TRICKSTERS The Ausiello Files Breaking: Cuoco pulls out of 'Grey's Anatomy' - Apr 23, 2009, 01:37 PM | by Michael Ausiello The mystery surrounding Kaley Cuoco's top-secret role in Grey's Anatomy's May 14 season finale has been solved! She's playing... no one! A spokesperson for the Big Bang Theory star just released the following statement: "Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts on behalf of The Big Bang Theory, Kaley Cuoco regrettably will be unable to guest star on the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy. Kaley is a big fan of Grey’s Anatomy and hopes to work with them in the future." Is there more to this story than meets the eye? You tell me: BBT wrapped production for the season last Tuesday and Cuoco clearly told us that she wasn't needed on the Grey's set until this week. Sounds a little fishy, right? Let me put my detective hat on and see what I can suss out. THIS JUST IN: Cuoco's rep just e-mailed to say, "To clarify, it was a publicity related commitment, not a production conflict." --------------------------- Exclusive: Did CBS derail Cuoco's 'Grey's' gig? - Apr 23, 2009, 04:57 PM | by Michael Ausiello It appears the case of Kaley Cuoco's disappearing Grey's Anatomy guest stint has been cracked! Although the actress' rep says an unforeseen "publicity commitment" forced the Big Bang Theory star to back out of a top-secret appearance on Grey's Anatomy's May 14 season finale, multiple sources now tell me that it was her current employer, CBS, that put the kibosh on the deal. An Eye spokesperson couldn't be reached for comment, but as one insider explains, "They didn't want one of their biggest stars appearing on one of ABC's biggest shows. It's that simple." As a result, Grey's has tapped former O.C. starlet Shannon Lucio (she played Caleb's illegitimate daughter, Lindsay) to fill Cuoco's shoes. Still unknown: Who the heck is she playing? Some of you initially (and understandably) speculated that, based on Cuoco's resemblance to Katherine Heigl, perhaps the character is a relative of Izzie's. That possibility seems less likely with the casting of Lucio... or does it? ABC isn't spilling, so I once again open the floor to you guys: Do you still think there's an Izzie connection to this character? And getting back to Cuoco, can you understand why CBS might not be keen on loaning her out to the competition? Sound off below! --------------------------- Ask Ausiello: - Apr 22, 2009 Question: Your single-topic AA on Grey's gave us nothing on the best couple, Meredith and Derek! Please, can you give us something juicy? -- Hayley Ausiello: Okay, here's something: A longtime Grey's duo are about to break up -- presumably for good -- and it's not Derek and Meredith. Nope. It's Bailey and Tucker! In the May 14 season finale, Bailey takes the bold step of leaving her husband after he once again fails to support her career. Question: Can you tell us how much time has lapsed between the elevator proposal episode of Grey's and the episode that airs this week? --Jasmin Ausiello: A few days, I believe. It's not long at all. Question: Any scoop on the anticipated Thatcher return on Grey's next week? I'm hoping for some overdue Meredith and Lexie scenes! --Dana Ausiello: Two of my favorite Mer-Lexie scenes ever take place in next week's episode, but it's more a result of the thorny Derek-Mark situation than Thatcher's return. Question: Any insight on what is going to happen with Mer-Der now that Ellen Pompeo is preggers in real life? --R Aliberti Ausiello: If you're asking me whether there's a McBaby in their future, I don't know. I can tell you that if Pompeo takes the standard two-month maternity leave following the birth of her first child this fall, Grey's could be Mer-less for a portion of next season. Maybe they'll send her to some really long medical convention. Or dispatch her to the parking lot to look for Dr. Hahn. The possibilities are endless! Question: Will Jeffrey Dean Morgan be appearing in Grey's Anatomy's 100th episode? --Javier Ausiello: Let's examine the evidence, shall we? Exhibit A: Morgan appeared in the 100th ep photo-op, which took place on the Grey's set during filming of the said 100th episode. Exhibit B: The official logline for the landmark ep says, "Izzie fears the worst when she begins experiencing familiar symptoms." Exhibit C: I have to warn you that this one's really spoilery, but I'm hearing… wait, what's that? The jury of Ausholes has already reached a unanimous verdict? Eh, so much for my Exhibit C. It was really good, too. http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/ask-ausiello--3.html#more --------------------------- Grey's Anatomy: All About Izzie - April 21, 2009 There is so much buzz surrounding the last few episodes of Grey's Anatomy. There's the highly anticipated wedding and then there's George's direction as a military and trauma doctor. But perhaps the most controversial of all is Izzie's fate as a cancer-stricken patient, along with her portrayer Katherine Hiegl's fate on the medical drama. Whether or not it has something to do with her looming exit, the spotlight is now focused on Heigl, who seems to be doing her best work since season 2. "These next two episodes [April 23 and 30] are as solid as any I've seen this season," said Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, who also hinted on some Izzie scoop for the remaining episodes of Grey's Anatomy's fifth season. Warning: Spoilers ahead!!! Izzie's mother is coming to town. According to Ausiello, Sharon Lawrence, who is credited for her roles as Linda Fusco on Monk and as Shelby Smith on Privileged, will be making a guest appearance as Izzie's mother on the April 30 episode of Grey's Anatomy. Ausiello also hints that her arrival will involve a case of mistaken identity with her potential son-in-law, Alex. Izzie will be cancer free. Well, not exactly. It is revealed that Izzie is cancer free by the April 30 episode or so someone close to her is led to believe. Izzie caught in the middle. Evidently, fans can expect an action-drama-packed plot as "George and Alex have a huge blowup over Izzie. And before the scene ends, glass is shattered, blood is shed, and someone suffers a near-fatal fall." Meanwhile, the real score of Heigl's status of the show remains uncertain. Last month, she revealed that if given the chance, she'd be more than happy to continue on Grey's if the show would still have her. "I was assuming that at one point [Izzie would die] and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don't know if that's a yes or a no. No one will tell me and I don't know how this is going to go. I don't know if I live or die. I don't know how Izzie fares," she said. Considering that her character has less than a 5 percent chance of surviving stage 4 metastatic cancer, it looks like Izzie's days are really numbered. POLL What are you looking forward to? - The arrival of Izzie's mother - The misleading cancer-free plot - The Alex and George blowup over Izzie http://www.buddytv.com/articles/greys-anatomy/greys-anatomy-all-about-izzie-27927.aspx?pollid=3002245&answer=3007928#poll3002245 --------------------------- Ask Ausiello about 'Grey's Anatomy' - Apr 20, 2009, 07:21 PM | by Michael Ausiello It's baaaaack! No, I'm not talking about Grey's Anatomy -- although, yes, that's also back this week. Rather, I'm referring to the rare treat that is the single-topic Ask Ausiello. Holla! Once again I'm focusing on Grey's, and, once again, I have a good reason for doing so: I just watched the next two episodes (airing April 23 and 30) and my spoiler cupeth runneth overith. Questions, please! Question: Please tell me there's some good stuff for the amazingly talented Sandra Oh and Kevin McKidd in the next two episodes of Greys. --HY Ausiello: This Thursday's ep? Not so much. Next Thursday's ep? Hell yes! Question: I went to go see Guys and Dolls last week when I was in New York, but Lauren Graham wasn't there! Can you make me feel better by giving me some Grey's Anatomy scoop? --Troy Ausiello: These next two episodes are as solid as any I've seen this season. Most of my favorite moments involved Katherine Heigl, who as I Tweeted earlier today, is doing her best work since season 2. Question: Give me some good Alex-Izzie scoop! --Nicole Ausiello: Izzie's trashtastic mother (played by Sharon Lawrence) makes a memorable entrance on 4/30. (Hint: It involves a case of mistaken identity with her potential son-in-law). Question: Izzie! Grey's! Scoop! --Janine Ausiello: She's cancer free by the second ep... or so someone close to her is led to believe. Question: Any scoop on my favorite Grey's character, Lexie? --Kelly Ausiello: Shonda Rhimes found a fun way to work in Chyler Leigh's sudden plus-sizedness (the actress is pregnant in real life) -- and it involves the feud between Mark and Derek. Question: Please bless me with some Mark and Lexie scoop! Are these two getting some screen time in the episodes leading up to the finale? --Naazneen Ausiello: There's some kissing, hand holding, and a dinner date with dad. (In other words, yes!) Question: Any good T.R. Knight stuff coming up? --Marco Ausiello: George and Alex have a huge blowup over Izzie. And before the scene ends, glass is shattered, blood is shed, and someone suffers a near-fatal fall. Got more questions about Grey's? Send 'em to ausielloscoop@ew.com and maybe I'll answer them in Thursday's AA. I said maybe. --------------------------- 'Grey's' exclusive: 'Big Bang' babe checks in! Apr 17, 2009, The list of awesome guest stars appearing in Grey's Anatomy's two-hour finale on May 14 just got a little longer. At last night's Big Bang Theory event at PaleyFest '09, leading lady Kaley Cuoco revealed to EW exclusively that she's Seattle Grace-bound. "I am working on Grey's Anatom Anatomy next week," she confirmed. "It is a big ol' secret. I have no clue what I am doing. I swear on my life that I have no idea what I am playing because it is the finale and they are keeping it under wraps until the last possible moment." Adding to the mystery, Cuoco said she didn't even have to audition for the top-secret part. "They called me directly last week and asked if I would do a part on the finale episode," she explains. "I didn't hesitate because I am a fan of the show, and it's a huge show so it's probably good for the career, too. And I haven't been able to do any drama in a long time. "My guess is that I will be a patient of some kind," she continues. "I'm practicing my scared-sad-I'm-dying face." http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/greys-exclusi-1.html --------------------------- Ask Ausiello: Question: I heard a rumor that the couple on Grey's Anatomy that is really getting married is Sloan and Lexie. Please, oh please, tell me this isn't true. -- Terry Ausiello: Brace yourself: The couple getting married on May 7 is, in fact, [drumroll, please] not McSteamy and 'Lil Grey. Question: I haven't seen any scoops for Private Practice lately. Got anything on the April 26 finale? -- Mary Ausiello: Certain events in the episode will leave you wondering if both Amy Brenneman and KaDee Strickland have been fired. (Allow me to put your mind at ease: An ABC insider assures me that they'll both be back.) Elsewhere, there are major turning points in the Violet-Pete and Sam-Naomi romances, and Dell *e** *u**o** *f ****y. http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/ask-ausiello--2.html --------------------------- Bye, George! Is 'Grey's' killing off T.R. Knight? Apr 13, 2009, 10:11 AM | by Michael Ausiello Whatever cliff-hanger Grey's Anatomy has in store in its May 14 season finale, it'll probably pale in comparison to the one T.R. Knight is experiencing in real life. Last fall, the actor -- frustrated by his lack of airtime -- asked to be released from his multiyear Grey's contract. Now, as I first reported in Ask Ausiello, his wish may be granted by an upcoming story line that finds (MAJOR SPOILER ALERT) George marching off to war as an Army medic. Just as the season wraps up, George gets injured in the line of duty, leaving his fate up in the air for viewers -- and even Knight himself. "T.R. doesn’t know whether George lives or dies," explains a source close to the show. "And, as a result, he doesn't know whether or not he has to come back next season." Legally speaking, Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes has until mid-June to decide whether to drop Knight -- and all indications are she will use every last second of that time. Some are suggesting she may be forcing Knight to sweat it out as payback for wanting to jump ship. (The two have had a strained relationship since the Isaiah Washington blowup in 2006.) While Knight's rep and Rhimes both declined to comment, a Grey's insider scoffs at such a notion. "At the end of the day, Shonda is going to do what's best for the show," maintains the source. "Everything else is just idle gossip." What do you think is best for the show at this point: Cutting Knight loose via a season-ending tragedy, or forcing him to return next season for an indeterminate period of time (thus dragging out this off screen soap opera even longer)? --------------------------- --------------------------- credit to fishwife56 @ TWoP From Ausiello EW Print: **Pictures are with the article of all four Grey's couples** Nice Day For a 'Grey' wedding? What do you get the show that has everything on the occasion of its 100th episode? In the case of Grey's Anatomy, extra security. To prevent any intel about the big May 7 installment from leaking -- specifically information about which Grey's couple will be getting hitched -- boss lady Shonda Rhimes is pulling out all the stops. Scripts are being handed out to essential personnel only, and even then the final 30 pages are being held back. "Shonda wants to keep the identity of the bride and groom a secret for as long as possible," says a Grey's insider, who allows only that the duo in question is not Derek and Meredith. Hmmm...so that pretty much leaves Alex-Izzie, Mark-Lexie, or Cristina and her boyfriend, Owen. Unfortunately, Kevin McKidd, the guy who plays that rookie Seattle Grace doc, isn't spilling. "I'm not telling you that," he laughs. But he does add that "it's one of those classic Grey's episodes, where it's funny and it breaks your heart four or five times." --------------------------- Ausiello - Twitter Hint - April 09, 2009 For those of you not on Twitter here is Ausiello wedding hint. Thanks to Jen for the heads up. It's not **e* and ***s***a. Question: I think it's time for an update on T.R. Knight's efforts to flee Grey's Anatomy. Will he get his wish by the end of the season? --Amy Ausiello: It certainly sounds like Shonda Rhimes is setting the stage for his departure. A Grey's insider is now confirming what I've previously predicted: George will not only (MAJOR SPOILER ALERT) march off to war, but he'll be wounded (perhaps mortally) in the line of duty by season's end. Question: I went ahead and tallied up the votes in the comments section of last week's Ask Ausiello and an overwhelming majority of your readers want to know who's getting married in the 100th episode of Grey's Anatomy. What are you waiting for? Spoil it! -- Craig Ausiello: I'll do you one better: I'll drop a clue into my Twitter feed in the next few days. That is better right? http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/ask-ausiello--1.html#more 'Grey's' scoop: 'Everwood,' 'Gilmore' stars scrub in - Apr 7, 2009 If Grey's Anatomy boss Shonda Rhimes is trying to win me back over after that whole Izzie-Denny-ghost-sex debacle, mission accomplished! Sources confirm to me exclusively that Rhimes has tapped two of my favorite actresses on the planet, Everwood's Debra Mooney and Gilmore Girls' Liza Weil, to guest star in the show's two-hour season finale on May 14. Mooney will play mom to Kevin McKidd's emotionally tormented Owen, while Weil will appear as a cancer patient who crosses paths with Izzie. Interesting piece of trivia: Weil, whose sublime work as Rory's acid-tongued BFF on Gilmore turned many a frown upside down, has ties to Rhimes' other show, Private Practice; her real-life husband is the equally awesome Paul Adelstein (Cooper). All's (almost) forgiven, Shonda! http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/greys-exclusive.html?xid=rss-ausiellofiles-%27Grey%27s%27+scoop%3A+%27Everwood%2C%27+%27Gilmore%27+stars+scrub+in Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on 'Grey's Anatomy' - Apr 1, 2009, Question: Shonda Rhimes said the 100th episode of Grey's Anatomy takes place on Mer and Der's wedding day, but you said they're not getting married. What's the deal? --Claire Ausiello: Do I have to remind you of Shonda's long and well-documented history of injecting her spoilers with tricky and misleading wordplay? Case in point, Izzie doesn't have a brain tumor, she has a brain metastasis. Here's the deal: Unless the script underwent an 11th hour rewrite, I stand by my earlier statement that Mer and Der do not get married on May 7. The only thing I'm unsure of is whether or not I should reveal the name of the bride and groom who are tying the knot in that episode. I'm on the fence about that one. What do you think I should do? Submit your pro/con arguments in the comments section. I'll get one of our interns or Annie Barrett to tally up the votes at the end of the day. Question: Are Cristina and Owen really done on Grey's Anatomy? I actually will be in mourning if that one bites the dust. It is the first interesting plot in a while. --Elise Ausiello: They're far from over. As Kevin McKidd himself told EW's Jennifer Armstrong, the exes will be thrown "a huge curveball that neither of them see coming. Just as he starts to get over his thing, something else happens. Which is good and bad. It's like, 'Oh my God, this is big.' It will be interesting to see how it leads into next season." Any guesses as to what the curveball is? Come on, it shouldn't be that hard to figure out. Think. It's bad and good. You can do this! http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/ask-ausiello-sp.html --------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ask or Watch with Kristen --------------------------- Kristin's Spoilers: Kelly in Laguna Beach, Calif.: Do you have any news on when Cristina and Owen will reunite on Grey's Anatomy? Thanks! Unfortunately not anytime soon. Owen doesn't have time for Cristina anymore (what with his newfound interest in turning George into a trauma surgeon). Actually, to be more specific, Owen's therapist doesn't let Owen have time for her. Yep, Owen's shrink has given him a specific list of three-word sentences he can say to Yang, but "I love you" is definitely not one of them. Either way, Cristina is not a happy camper. Bia in Los Angeles: Please tell me more about Meredith and Derek on Grey's Anatomy! Thatcher Grey is not in the hospital because his oldest daughter is getting married. He wants to make amends: He's been sober, and he's working on his steps. Charlie in Cheyenne, Wyo.: How's Izzie doing on Grey's Anatomy? As it turns out, cancer is really, really painful. Sigh. Poor Izz. Chantal in Toronto: Please give us something about Callie and Arizona on Grey's Anatomy. They have had such little airtime, and we want to know about their relationship. Please tell me there is more to come from this cute, new couple. Arizona meets Callie's dad in Thursday's episode, and he doesn't take the news of their relationship terribly well. In fact, when Callie's dad tries to get her to move home and she refuses, he cuts off her trust fund. Katty in Washington, D.C.: Got any more Grey's Anatomy scoop? Yes, and it comes from Kellie Martin of ER and Life Goes On fame. Kelly pops up on the small screen in May on both Ghost Whisperer and Grey's Anatomy. "On Ghost Whisperer, I play a director of a soap opera, and I'm being haunted," Kellie tells us. "And on Grey's, all I can say is that I don't play a patient, and I don't play a doctor. We have to respect the Grey's cone of silence. They're very secretive. It's not integral to the crazy rumors going around right now, though." Grey's Anatomy: Who's Wearing the Wedding Dress? - Apr 16, 2009 Do not read this post unless you are positive you want to know who's wearing the wedding dress in the Grey's Anatomy season finale. Seriously. We're not kidding. It's like losing your virginity—once the innocence is gone, you can't ever get it back, and you might just feel dirty afterward. Make good decisions here, people... K, ready to be spoiled rotten? In that case, read on and then send your thank-you vibes to the spies like us who sent in the following report. One of my coworkers was in Los Angeles on business, and when I called her and told her about Grey's filming the wedding scene, she freaked and found the set. She was there for the lunch break (she said there were two or three paps there too) but she said later Katherine Heigl was standing in the doorway with T.R. Knight, and she was smoking in a wedding dress. She had a big jacket/robe thing over it, but she said there was no doubt it was a wedding dress. She said Katherine was only in the doorway a minute or two before they called her back in, but she has no doubt that it was a wedding dress. Should you trust what a friend of a friend of a friend has to say about the sitch? Well, you can decide for yourselves, but every part of this rings true to us. Should you trust what a friend of a friend of a friend has to say about the sitch? Well, you can decide for yourselves, but every part of this rings true to us. What say you? Is an Alex-Izzie wedding a good idea? What do you think this means for Mer and Derek? Have they already gotten hitched in the 100th episode (the one before the finale) or did something bad happen, so Izzie took over Mer's wedding plans, Stella-on-HIMYM style? Post your theories and reactions in the comments, and for that matter, give it up for Shonda and company, who have made this second-half of season five some damn compelling television. Seriously, who among us is not dying to know: What happens next?! http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b119030_greys_anatomy_whos_wearing_wedding_dress.html#comments Kristin: Somebody's walking down the aisle today on Grey's Anatomy! Yes, sources tell us exclusively that Grey's Anatomy is filming at a church this very day, right here in Los Angeles. Could this be the much-discussed nuptials of two main characters, or could it be something else...like a certain star's funeral? Here's what we're hearing... Sources whisper to us, "Grey's is on location at a church today, and it's definitely set up for a wedding!" Squee! Can you believe that someone's actually getting a church wedding on Grey's? Could Mer and Der really be getting married after all? Such a turn of events seems increasingly likely. Who knew? Of course, if something that sweet really happens, the joy will have to be leavened with a little pain. Because this is Grey's Anatomy, and all happy G.A. plotlines are counterbalanced by a "don't get too excited, life still sucks" twist. Therefore, we predict Izzie strokes out at the reception. Round and round we go... Are you stoked that MerDer might finally be ready to make a commitment? Do you want Izzie Stevens dead or alive? Post in the comments! http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b118796_greys_anatomy_going_chapel.html Kristin: Mr. Orange: Any hopes that Virginia Dixon (Mary McDonnell) will be added as a regular on Grey's Anatomy? Unfortunately, when Dr. Dixon turned down the head of cardiothoracic surgery job, that sealed her fate of never stepping foot back in Seattle Grace. Sources tell us there are no plans to bring Mary McDonnell back. Chloe in Escondido, Calif.: Grey's Anatomy! When parents collide! Thatcher Grey and Sharon Lawrence as Izzie's mom are both slated to appear in the April 30 episode, which was written by Anatomy maestro Krista Vernoff. And the two men in Ellis Grey's life (the Chief and Thatcher Grey) finally kinda throw down, and Izzie turns out to be a chip off the old block. Her mom, Robbie, is extremely chipper, like a less evil Tracy Flick. Seriously, bring a Kleenex box to this ep, because we're all gonna cry. BTW, the biggest rumor in rumorville right now is that it's not Mer and Der who get married, but Alex and deathbed Izzie. Cross your fingers, Alex-Iz fans! --------------------------- Latest from Kristin - March 31, 2009 Jen in San Jose, Calif.: Please tell me more about Cristina and Owen on Grey's Anatomy! Katherine Heigl Speaks - 28 March 2009 Katherine Heigl says she might be sticking around Seattle Grace a little longer than we thought. Per an article posted by our friends at HuffPo, Heigl addresses her future on Grey's Anatomy and the fate of her imperiled character Izzie Stevens: "I was assuming that [my character's days were numbered] at one point and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don't know if that's a yes or a no. No one will tell me and I don't know how this is going to go. I don't know if I live or die. I don't know how Izzie fares." Reports have circulated since last summer that the show would eventually kill off Katherine Heigl. A couple episodes back it seemed that was finally coming to pass, as Izzie was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic cancer in her brain and liver. Despite the whole dead Denny debacle (we love you, Jeffrey Dean Morgan!), Izzie's cancer storyline is at the center of Anatomy's current creative renaissance, and right about now the fans are rooting for Iz to live. But enough about death and dying for a moment: Let's talk about what is usually one of life's happier transitions, because show runner Shonda Rhimes spilled at the party that the show's 100th episode occurs at the wedding of a twosome you love. Who gets the honors? Well, according to Shonda: Spoilers: Spoiler Alert! Sign (White Background) "The only thing I'll tell you about the 100th [episode] is that it takes place on Meredith and Derek's wedding day." Wait, did Shonda Rhimes voluntarily distribute a spoiler? That can't be right. Mmmm...maybe wedding day doesn't actually mean wedding. Knowing Grey's, lightning strikes the bride before any vows are actually read! For the record, we're voting against lightning strikes, strokes at the altar or the shocking returns of secret spouses. Mer and Der deserve some happiness after all these years. At the very least, here's hoping they have a better wedding day than Cristina and Burke.http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b106609_greys_anatomy_izzie_going_live_after.html --------------------------- Spoiler Chat: What's Izzie Doing on Her Deathbed? - Apr 6, 2009 The members of the George-Izzie-Alex love triangle on Grey's Anatomy turn out to be key players in this last run of season five G.A. episodes. Find out how Izzie's screwing up Alex's game and giving George a nudge forward; plus, what huge project will occupy Iz's final days? (Hint: It's not just knitting a ginormous green scarf for Bailey.) Tracey in Chicago: Any new Grey's Anatomy news? When Anatomy finally comes back April 23—shock of shocks—George gets a storyline. Yes, our boy George once again one-ups Alex (remember the heart surgery in the elevator?) when Alex freaks out in the middle of a trauma (understandable given that his girlfriend is, like, dying). And as reported by Shonda Rhimes herself (gasp!), Derek and Mer are supposed to be getting married in the upcoming 100th episode, and Izzie's dying wish is to give them the wedding she may or may not be able to ever have herself. (Sad face.) P.S. At this point, our best guesstimate on the finale is that Izzie goes into remission (but the producers keep Katherine Heigl in line with the threat of new malignancies), while George joins the Army medical corps, sending him into the sunset in a way that keeps him available for sweeps-week guest spots if they can afford his fee. What's your theory of the crime? http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b107965_spoiler_chat_whats_izzie_doing_on_her.html?utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=imdb_topstories --------------------------- GREY's HEIGL BRAIN DEAD - 04/01/2009 Diagnosis Payback: Katherine Heigl's loses war with Grey's Anatomy producers! In a stunning about-face, she's now begging producers of the hit ABC drama NOT to kill her off - just months after she threatened to walk, sources say. The 30-year-old beauty had hinted that she wanted to concentrate on her film career after the one-two box office punch of her hit comedies Knocked Up and 27 Dresses. "But with the economy tanking and a key role in a huge TV hit, Katherine's not ready to quit her day job," an insider told The ENQUIRER. "Now she's groveling with the producers, trying to convince them not to kill off her character. She'd like a few more lucrative seasons on Grey's while she continues to build a reputation in the film world." The actress ignited a firestorm last summer when she pulled herself out of the running for an Emmy nomination, claiming the show's writers hadn't given her material that was good enough to warrant recognition. The insult didn't sit well with Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes or the show's writing team. Soon after, Katherine's character Dr. Izzie Stevens was diagnosed with advanced brain and liver cancer - hinting imminent kill-off . But now producers are keeping Izzie's fate up in the air. Katherine recently told a reporter: "I don't know if I live or die." The source added: "The producers are messing with Katherine now. They won't give her a concrete answer. She's learned …just how cutthroat this industry can be." http://www.nationalenquirer.com/greys_anatomy_katherine_heigl_life_support_power_play_27_dresses_knocked_up/celebrity/66439 --------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ET ---- E!Online --------------------------- Matt Mitovitch: Mega Buzz - Apr 14, 2009 Could you give me any scoop you have on Grey's Anatomy, ideally something about Mark and Lexie? I need my fix! — Frances MATT: Does McSteamy "do" parents? That's the big question in the April 30 episode, when a now-sober Thatcher Grey invites his daughter and her new beau out to dinner. Now, just supposing that Mark is down for some dining, can the reformed cad put on a good show? And this just in: A source tells me that on Mer and Der's wedding day, airing May 7, the groom gifts his bride with (incurable romantic alert!) her first solo surgery. How that fits into a little blue Tiffany box, I do not know. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Mega-Buzz-Greys-1005065.aspx --------------------------- Filming Report Posted by DarkUFO at Thursday, April 16, 2009 (Comments: 5) Labels: Behind the Scenes Thanks to SpoilerTV reader Jen for sending us the following. Hopefully we'll get some more. One of my coworkers was in Los Angeles on business and when I called her and told her about Grey's filming the wedding scene she freaked and found the set. It was filmed at Immanuel Presbyterian Church and they of course were trying to be super secretive. There were a small gathering of fans that were there though hiding out back and my co-worker Karen was one of them. She didn't have her camera with her since she wasn't really expecting this, but she told me what she saw. She was there for the lunch break (which is the pics you posted on the site, she said there were two or three paps there too) but she said later Katherine Heighl was standing in the doorway with TRK and she was smoking *in a wedding dress*. She had a big jacket/robe thing over it, but she said there was no doubt it was a wedding dress. She said Katherine was only in the doorway a minute or two before they called her back in, but she has no doubt that it was a wedding dress. Heigl Breaks Silence on Grey's Exit Talk - Mar 28, 2009 This particular doctor is in, if Shonda Rhimes has plans to keep her around. So said Katherine Heigl at a party marking Grey's Anatomy's 100th episode, where she for the first time addressed the rumor that Dr. Isobel Stevens is being written off of the show at season's end. Should Grey's keep Izzie alive and kicking around the halls of Seattle Grace, "I'm there," Heigl told the Associated Press at the ABC serial's Friday celebration. Talk of Heigl's Grey's days being numbered began last summer, when she appeared to dis the show's writers for not giving her Emmy-caliber material; Rhimes nipped that buzz in the bud in September. The rumor was resurrected last month when James Pickens Jr. told reporters that both Heigl and T.R. Knight would be leaving the show; Rhimes was quick to dismiss Pickens' "out of context" quote as "not true." Heigl claims that she herself was and is still in the dark. "I was assuming that [Izzie was being written off] and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head.... I don't know if that's a yes or a no," she told the AP. "No one will tell me, and I don't know how this is going to go." Specifically speaking of her ailing alter ego's battle with a now-excised brain tumor, Heigl said, "I don't know if I live or die." Heigl is increasingly in demand on the silver screen, where she has had one big success with Knocked Up, and next stars in the rom-com The Ugly Truth, followed by Five Killers (opposite Ashton Kutcher). Is she truly willing to juggle a TV gig with film roles? Says the actress, "I'm more than happy to make that compromise." http://www.tvguide.com/News/Greys-Heigl-status-1004492.aspx --------------------------- Heigl unsure about 'Grey's Anatomy' future - March 30 2009 Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl has admitted that she has no idea what the future holds for her in the ABC show. The actress, who plays Dr. Izzie Stevens, told Us Weekly that she is in the dark about whether her character will survive skin cancer. "I was assuming that [Izzie would die] at one point, and I get a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don't know if that's a yes or a no," she said. "No-one will tell me and I don't know how this is going to go. I don't know if I live or die." However, the 30-year-old dismissed speculation that she had asked to leave the programme, calling the set "one of my favourite places to be". She added: "I don't know if I want to continue for five years working 12 months a year, but I can take at least another year or two." http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/a151173/heigl-unsure-about-greys-anatomy-future.html?imdb#article_continue TV Guide - Mega Minute - March 30, 2009 Now playing in this week's Mitovich Mega Minute: • If you believe, as I do, that T.R. Knight has been conspicuously underutilized on Grey's Anatomy this season, Kevin McKidd is here to offer a ray of hope about a big storyline for O'Malley. ..... VIDEO http://spoilertv-greysanatomy.blogspot.com/2009/03/tv-guide-mega-minute_30.html 'Grey's Anatomy' star says Izzie's fate is still up in the air, as is her fate on the ABC medical drama - Mar 28, 2009 LOS ANGELES (AP) - Katherine Heigl said Friday she's ready to stay with "Grey's Anatomy" and the decision rests with the show. Attending a studio party to mark the ABC medical drama's 100th episode, Heigl said it's premature to think her days as Dr. Izzie Stevens are numbered. "I was assuming that at one point and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don't know if that's a yes or a no. No one will tell me and I don't know how this is going to go," Heigl said, noting series creator Shonda Rhimes' passion for plot secrecy. "I don't know if I live or die. I don't know how Izzie fares," said the actress, who's played the character since the show debuted in 2005. "I'm there" if Izzie remains part of "Grey's Anatomy," Heigl said. She called the set "one of my favorite places to be" and said her colleagues are also friends. She and fellow cast members, including Ellen Pompeo (Dr. Meredith Grey) and Patrick Dempsey (Dr. Derek Shepherd), were on hand for the celebration that included a cake decorated with scalpels and syringes made out of icing. Rhimes, who's also an executive producer for the show, called the milestone a "huge accomplishment" and thanked the cast and crew for their efforts. In an interview, she dropped a tantalizing clue about the episode airing May 7. "The only thing I'll tell you about the 100th is that it takes place on Meredith and Derek's wedding day," Rhimes said. "That's big ... and that's all I'm going to say." On Thursday's episode, Izzie was seen surviving brain surgery. There's been speculation that Heigl wants to pursue her blossoming film career ("Knocked Up," the upcoming "The Ugly Truth") full-time, and that her character might be killed off. Rhimes declined comment on what would happen to Heigl's character. Last month, fellow cast member James Pickens Jr. said Heigl was leaving the show, along with T.R. Knight, both of whom declined comment at the time. Knight missed the studio party because he'd previously scheduled the day off, an ABC spokeswoman said. On Friday, Heigl said she's comfortable balancing movies and TV by working on big-screen projects during the summer hiatus for "Grey's Anatomy." "I'm more than happy to make that compromise. As my agent likes to say, 'High-class problems,'" Heigl said. "I don't know if I want to continue for five years working 12 months a year, but I can take at least another year or two," she said. Dempsey said he intends to fulfill the remaining two years on his contract with "Grey's Anatomy and "then we'll see what happens after that." http://www.hitfix.com/articles/2009-3-28-katherine-heigl-says-her-grey-s-prognosis-isn-t-necessarily-terminal --------------------------- Ellen Pompeo about the wedding - March 31, 2009 Sans scrubs, "Grey's Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo and her husband, Chris Ivery, paid a visit to Children's Hospital Boston yesterday. Asked about Katherine Heigl's comment that Meredith and Derek might be getting hitched - on the show's 100th episode, no less - Pompeo grinned and said, "There's a wedding. . . . There's a setting that's a wedding, that's all I can say. I can't say who gets married. We're still working on the episode." http://spoilertv-greysanatomy.blogspot.com/2009/03/ellen-pompeo-about-wedding.html --------------------------- Mega Buzz on Housewives, 24, Leverage, Lost and More! - Mar 31, 2009 What's ahead for the Grey sisters on Grey's Anatomy? — Kelly MATT: You know how when sad dad Thatcher Grey swings by Seattle Grace, he almost always stirs up some sort of trouble, angst and/or agita? (My God, he's a drag.) Amazingly, his April 30 visit will bring Meredith and Lexie closer together ... as they collude to murder him and hide the body. But the one thing Seattle Grace’s Owen Hunt hasn’t done is procure a McNickname for his character on the ABC show. “They haven’t given me one,” McKidd tells PEOPLE.com with a laugh at a VH1 Save The Music Foundation benefit in San Pedro, Calif. “I’m waiting for that! Some people call me G.I. Joe, but that’s the closest I’ve gotten so far.” Though he couldn’t divulge any show secrets, McKidd hints that Hunt and George O’Malley (T.R. Knight) will develop a close bond as the season progresses. “It’s interesting what happens with my character and O’Malley in the latter half of the season. I kind of connect with him and see potential in him in a field that even he hadn’t thought about,” says McKidd. “So he really comes into his own in this season and I help him realize he has a natural gift for a certain type of surgery.” And Grey’s is also finding creative ways to handle costar Chyler Leigh’s pregnancy, which isn’t being written into the storyline. “There’s a lot of scenes, you’ll notice, where there are two guys standing in front of her and she’ll be kind of peeking around,” he says. “That’s how we’re getting around it, in a very old-school way. Dr. Smith looks at Chris' shoulder again and knows something isn't right. Dan Gates - 40s. First scene: is the same as in the previous side with Dan and Chris arriving by ambulance. Dr. Smith talks to Dan explaining his injuries while Dan is trying to wrap his head around what happened. Dan has two broken ribs that lacerated several organs which caused internal bleeding. Dan says that he was only going to the bank because he had a few minutes before having to get back to the office. Dr. Smith asks him if there's any family he'd like for them to call before the surgery. Dan says his wife Mary but he hadn't called her yet because she gets worried and she had to pick up their sons from school in a couple of hours. Dan then gets very angry and starts yelling that Chris is a SOB and he jumped in front of the car. Dr. Smith tries to calm him down saying the police are on their way and that they should probably call his wife. Dan refuses saying she'll panic and he doesn't want to put her through that, he'll call her after the surgery. Dr. Smith agrees and says they'll call her after the surgery. Mrs. Gates - Dr. Smith and Dr. Walters find Mrs. Gates waiting anxiously in the patient waiting area. Dr. Smith informs her that her husband Dan has a long recovery ahead of him, he suffered a minor brain contusion, broken ribs, internal bleeding but he's going to be fine. Mrs. Gates is relieved and extremely grateful thanking both doctors and saying they're wonderful. Dr. Smith asks her if she would like to see her husband and she accepts. Mr. Smithson - is Jessica's father (the little girl who is the patient). Dr. Grant steps outside in the hall to talk to an exhausted looking Mr. Smithson. Mr. Smithson starts explaining to Dr. Grant that he spoke to a friend of his who is doing the fundraising for this sort of thing and his friend mentioned a place in Mexico where they do experimental treatments and have been very successful. In a few weeks they should have raised enough money. Dr. Grant says that she knows it's hard, they've talked about this a lot but she's sorry. Mr. Smithson refuses saying all they need is a little more time while he shuffles through print outs. He says he should've brought Jessica sooner over there for the treatment but he didn't know. He doesn't mean to insult Dr. Grant because he knows she's done everything she can but Jessica is a fighter and he needs a few more days to get her there. Dr. Grant looks him in the eye and starts saying that Jessica isn't going to be able to... Mr. Smithson blows up and starts yelling to Dr. Grant to not tell him what is best. He'll find a way to get his daughter to Mexico tonight and shame on Dr. Grant for giving up on Jessica. Mr. Smithson leaves angry and on a mission. In Jessica's room: Dr. Grant is checking as usual to see if Jessica is bundled up enough. Mr. Smithson comes in defeated, he called eight organizations and there's a wait list for emergency funds, he doesn't know what else to do. Dr. Grant tells him it's time to stop. Mr. Smithson thinks maybe if they go to the airport they'll be let on the flight since Jessica is a sick child. Mr. Smithson pleads with Dr. Grant to not make him stop. Dr. Grant looks at him with compassion saying she wouldn't want to stop either. Jessica opens her eyes and asks her father if they're going to Mexico. Mr. Smithson looks at her and knows she's dying. He walks to the side of the bed, takes Jessica in his arms and lies down stroking Jessica's hair. He tells her they are going to Mexico where the sky is blue, the sand is white and so on. It'll be just the two of them, no more doctors, no more medicine, no more hospitals. Jessica - Very sick 6 year old. In the first scene, Dr. Grant and Dr. Hawkins have stabilized her. Dr. Grant pulls out a tiny ceramic doll dressed like a ballerina from her pocket and asks Jessica for a good name for the doll. They agree on Elizabeth being a good name and Dr. Grant places the doll on Jessica's table where we see several other dolls. In the second scene, Dr. Grant walks into Jessica's room and she's looking very scared and sick. Jessica really wants her dad and Dr. Grant says he's talking to the doctors and will be here soon. Jessica looks so small, weak and scared that Dr. Grant instinctively picks her up. --------------- More sides from episode 5.20: Kevin - he's a psych resident. In the ER, Dr. Smith is charting and Kevin approaches. Kevin was called for a consult on a guy who got hit by a car (Chris Meloy - going by the other sides) and Dr. Smith directs him to curtain five. The patient is gone and Dr. Smith remarks "Oh, crap..." ND Patient - In the ND Patient's room, Dr. Swanson is stitching the patient and Mr.Vernon lingers nearby. Dr. Swanson says he's with a patient right now and he (Mr.Vernon whom Dr. Swanson calls 'Scott') shouldn't be there. The ND Patient says he doesn't mind Mr. Vernon being there and Mr. Vernon looks at Dr. Swanson as if to say 'see, the patient is on my side'. Dr. Sawnson sighs. -------------------------------------------- Episode 5.20 - Casting sides - March 04, 2009 Callie's dad is going to be visiting in episode 5.20. I was right about Mr.Vernon being someone we know but I was wrong about it being Izzie. There's a new side for Mr. Hall and the scene is clearly with Callie (named Jessica in the side) and Mr.Torres (they didn't even bother to change his name, lol). Mr. Hall - In Jessica's (Callie) ND Patient Room: Callie is setting Mr. Hall's bones, he's sedated but becomes alert when Callie cracks his bones. Mr. Torres hovers silently close by making it hard for Callie to focus. Callie tells her dad that she's with a patient at the moment and he shouldn't be there. Mr. Hall says he doesn't mind and Mr. Torres looks at Callie as if to say the patient is on his side. Callie tells her dad that she wasn't looking for a relationship, not with a he or a she but it feels good, safe, easy and comfortable with her (Arizona, I presume). Callie finishes setting Mr. Hall's bones and turns to her dad who's unreadable. Callie's says she's happy and asks him when has he heard her willingly admit to that. Mr. Torres is calm and determined as he says that when Callie lived at home with her parents she was happy. Callie responds that she was twelve so it didn't take much. Mr. Torres wants Callie to fly home with him today and he'll take care of everything for her (set her up in her old bedroom, buy her a new car). He says he'll talk to the Chief and explain the circumstances and Callie can transfer her residency to St. Mary's Miami. Callie outright refuses saying she's not moving back home. Kevin - he's a psych resident. In the ER, Dr. Smith is charting and Kevin approaches. Kevin was called for a consult on a guy who got hit by a car (Chris Meloy - going by the other sides) and Dr. Smith directs him to curtain five. The patient is gone and Dr. Smith remarks "Oh, crap..." Jessica - Very sick 6 year old. In the first scene, Dr. Grant and Dr. Hawkins have stabilized her. Jessica looks so small, weak and scared that Dr. Grant instinctively picks her up. Chris Meloy - 30s, arrives by ambulance after being hit by the car driven by Dan Gates. Dr. Smith attends to Dan while Dr. Walters attends to Chris. Paramedic informs Dr. Walters that Chris has afractured shoulder, possible broken ribs and internal bleeding. Dan says he didn't hit Chris, Chris jumped in front of the car. Chris accuses Dan of driving like a madman and calls for a blood alcohol test. Dan calls Chris a liar and Chris responds calling Dan a drunk. In the ER: Dr. Smith is stitching up Chris and keeps glancing at his shoulder. Dr. Smith remarks that Chris said the car came from a northerly direction and Chris confirms asking why is that important. Dr. Smith tells Chris the police will there in a couple of hours and that Chris has to stick around till then. Chris gets uncomfortable, he doesn't want to wait for the police and just wants to go home to his family. Dr. Smith explains that whenever someone gets hit by a car they need to file a report so the police will need a statement from both Chris and Dan. She's absolutely playing the "I'm dying" card everywhere she can, getting special favors from all her friends and random wedding vendors who might be able to help her plan Mer's big day. http://vids.eonline.com/services/player/bcpid20267199001?bctid=20372717001 Spoiler Bonus: Don't worry, the Grey sisters and their hot doctor boyfriends aren't estranged and conflicted for too long. http://vids.eonline.com/services/player/bcpid20267199001?bctid=20372715001 Spoiler Bonus: Emotional detachment is bad for healthy relationships, but good for work as a trauma surgeon. Owen compliments a fellow doc for possessing the (heretofore unnoticed by us) characteristic of being calm under fire. Any guesses on who gets the nod? Come on! You know this one! http://vids.eonline.com/services/player/bcpid20267199001?bctid=20372943001 Spoiler Bonus: Callie's dad does not mess around! After he threatens to beat up all the boys, he tries to kidnap Callie! OK, not exactly, but close. Luckily, Arizona, Sloan and the rest of us will not permit her to be carried off, because she is awesome and we must keep her forever and ever. http://vids.eonline.com/services/player/bcpid20267199001?bctid=20372716001 Grey’s Anatomy Peek 4/23 http://www.eonline.com/videos/v19096641001__grey_s_anatomy__peek_4_23.html http://wtlfan.livejournal.com/603705.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PROMOS Grey's Anatomy Promo For 9/23/09 on 9/16/09. - Apr 16, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v99KcVgLD40 Episode 5.20 - Sweet Surrender - Promo - Apr 17, 2009 http://spoilertv-greysanatomy.blogspot.com/2009/04/episode-520-sweet-surrender-promo.html 5.20 GA Promo in Slow Motion - Apr 16, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_blDzDO9XRI Grey's Anatomy Ep. 5.20 Promo - CTV - Apr 20, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVbBXF6zI5s Grey's Anatomy Promo For 9/23/09 on 9/16/09. - Apr 16, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v99KcVgLD40 Episode 5.20 - Sweet Surrender - Promo - Apr 17, 2009 http://spoilertv-greysanatomy.blogspot.com/2009/04/episode-520-sweet-surrender-promo.html 5.20 GA Promo in Slow Motion - Apr 16, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_blDzDO9XRI ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PHOTOS EVEN More GA Wedding Set Pics. - April 18, 2009 Here’s some more pics form the GA set at that LA Church on April 16th 2009. RECAPS & REVIEWS & RATINGS BUDDYTV Grey's Anatomy: What About the Other Characters? - Monday, April 20, 2009 The brouhaha over Izzie (Katherine Heigl) and George (T.R. Knight) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) has been so loud that we might forget that the final four episodes of Grey's Anatomy (including the two-hour season finale) has potentially as much bearing in the lives of the other characters. For instance, Callie (Sara Ramirez) is set to introduce Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) to her father, who won't exactly be jumping for joy with the news while Owen (Kevin McKidd) continues to struggle with PTSD, after the seriously scary strangling episode involving his now ex Cristina (Sandra Oh). In fact, I don't think a lot of Grey's Anatomy fans noticed how heartbreaking (and ingenious) it was that Cristina told Meredith they broke up immediately after Meredith broke the news that she's engaged. I'm not blaming anyone for being overly engrossed in the who's-getting-married and who's-dying bandwagon; both are no doubt very exciting. For the sake of fairness, however, let's take a break from Izzie and George and MerDer and speculate on how the other Grey's characters would fare, as this season heads to its conclusion. Cristina - Whoever gets married, Cristina will be a bridesmaid (unless Shonda pulls a big one and she ends up the bride, but that's a bit pushing it). It will be interesting to see how she'd react to Meredith getting hitched given that she (1) was left at the altar and (2) is single and possibly heartbroken. Nevertheless, I remember how Meredith told the hesitating Cristina on her wedding that they "need" this. "We need you to get your happy ending," or something. As for her own love life, no doubt Cristina will swing it single or with someone. I remember writing before that I actually preferred her be gloomy and sad. Now I'm not so sure. (Supposing Meredith walks out of her own wedding, will Cristina be doing the "It's over" speech?) Mark and Lexie - Judging from the comments from previous articles, not a lot of Grey's fans like this pairing. To these characters' eternal chagrin, this relationship will be put to the test in the last few episodes of the season, as Mark is set to meet Little Grey's dad. Must be bad news for those who don't approve, since meeting the parents is normally perceived to be a big step, whether things turn out positively or not. Callie or Arizona - Despite being in separate relationships with other people and looking happy, I still believe that Mark and Callie are meant for each other. As mentioned before, a bump in Callie and Arizona's relationship is seen as we meet his disapproving dad (whom we met before, and who approved of George). If this turns out to be a way to discard this storyline, I'll be very disappointed. It will also reaffirm previous theories that Callie is just not lesbian enough to merit a romantic storyline yet. Read: Erica Hahn. POLL Aside from Izzie, George, and MerDer, which storyline are excited to see progress? - Mark and Lexie - Cristina and Owen - Arizona and Callie - Bailey - the Chief - More George, Izzie, and MerDer! http://www.buddytv.com/articles/greys-anatomy/greys-anatomy-what-about-the-o-27894.aspx Grey's Anatomy: Predicting the Big Crash - Wednesday, April 08, 2009 The May 14 finale of Grey’s Anatomy may sound far off still, but we know from experience that once the current intense storylines build up and episodes start rapidly flowing from week to week, the show’s fifth season will be over faster than you can say metastatic melanoma. That being said, I’m wondering what big finale twist Shonda Rhimes has up her mischievous sleeve this time. Grey’s Anatomy, as far as I can recall, has been notorious for just wrecking, punishing one of its characters or two in season finales. So far, the heartbreaking season enders include: Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) dying right after Izzie (Katherine Heigl) accepts his marriage proposal in season 2, Burke (Isaiah Washington) leaving Cristina (Sandra Oh) on their wedding day in season 3, and everybody kissing plus a house of candles courtesy of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) in season 4. (Well, OK, this last one wasn't heartbreaking, necessarily, but it was still good.) The way things look, there’s really no telling how the Grey’s Anatomy ending will shape up, or which single event will make this finale particularly memorable. Izzie’s cancer will definitely be up there with the possibilities, as well as George’s (T.R. Knight) fate as a surgeon (and as a character on the show). We already know that the heavily anticipated and perhaps long overdue MerDer wedding will not be on the season finale, as Shonda has revealed it’s going to take place on the 100th episode, which is right before the two-hour finale. So which is it? If it is, indeed, Izzie’s cancer that will be the focus of the conclusion, it can very well go either way. (In this note, Kudos to Shonda and her minions because she has countered every rumor with a rebuttal or yet another rumor.) Now no one’s sure if Heigl is leaving or not. That being said, Grey’s Anatomy fans, including those who didn’t like Izzie before, now want her to stay, after they realize that her character is this close to being written off. Do we really want things and people when we can’t have them, when the prospect of their absence looms before us, when we suddenly realize Izzie is OK, after all? Looking back, Izzie has had her share of a heartbreaking season finales. So did Cristina and Meredith. By virtue of elimination and elimination alone, plus the value of fairness, this can be a big season finale for George or Alex or both. Personally, I want Izzie dead at the end of this season, just to give this whole storyline meaningful fruition. Izzie surviving the barrage of surgeries and procedures unscathed would be underwhelming, to say the least. However, this doesn’t mean the storyline will need to be a question of whether Izzie survives or not. There are other shades of plots that can happen, and we just trust that the Grey’s Anatomy writers take full advantage of this creative renaissance the show is currently experiencing. What are you dreading to happen the most in the season finale? - Izzie dying. - George leaving. - MerDer wedding getting canceled for any reason. - Others. http://www.buddytv.com/articles/greys-anatomy/greys-anatomy-predicting-the-b-27628.aspx Is There Still a Place for George on 'Grey's Anatomy'? - April 02, 2009 know a lot had already been written about sweet little George (TR Knight) here and elsewhere. Paradoxically, the Grey’s Anatomy season we have seen the least of him is starting to prove to be a wake-up call to his fans, perhaps in that absence-makes-the-heart-grow-fonder fashion. My initial theory is that Shonda must be trying to slowly easy George out of everyone’s consciousness by giving him less and less screen time, a plan which she is either aborting (given this news) or drawing to a close when she finally writes him off. With this in mind, I noted with particular interest an insightful comment on the last episode’s aftergasm article. Has Grey’s Anatomy really been so relationship-centric that those characters with no romantic coupling possibility are slowly being written off? A very popular slide show on the show’s worst relationships reveals that much of what happens on the Grey’s universe involves romantic relationships one way or another. Has this become the point of the show? http://www.buddytv.com/articles/greys-anatomy/is-there-still-a-place-for-geo-27485.aspx ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CHICAGO TRIBUNE ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CINEMA BLEND ----------------------------------------------------------------------- EW.COM From EW Print: The 'Anatomy' of a Marriage Proposal. Also they had this to say under the ratings section: Grey's Anatomy - 16.1 Million Viewers for the week of March 23rd. 7th spot overall. No gimmicky Private Practice crossover event needed. In real life, Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey weren’t invited to Kate Walsh’s wedding – which spared them the price of a toaster for the since divorced couple. On the April 30 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Mer and Der will discuss who’s in and who’s out of their own May 7 wedding – and I’m hearing Chief Richard may not make the surgeons’ cut. http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/uu140/angelfield66/x15.jpg Grey's VIDEO: Kevin McKidd Surveys the Owen-Cristina Hook-Up, Previews an "Odd Pairing" - Apr 22, 2009 In part 2 of our video Q&A with Kevin McKidd, the Grey's Anatomy star weighs in on the last episode, in which Owen and Cristina finally hit the sheets. Why the wait? "They both know deep down that isn't just a quickie in the on-call room," he says. "There's really something going on [between them]." McKidd also shares his thoughts on who will and won't be getting married in the May 7 episode, then gets a good laugh from our question about the "going away party" for T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl. Lastly, the Scotsman previews how Owen will set out to mentor Alex, only to see great potential in another aspiring surgeon — George — as the Seattle Grace staff contents with a war zone-like multiple traumas situation. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Greys-Anatomy-McKidd-1005363.aspx Ask Matt: Is Grey's Anatomy Back? - March 29, 2009 Question: After a friend's re-recommendation, I find myself being drawn back into Grey's Anatomy after not having watched it ever since the whole ghost-sex debacle. And I was happily surprised that I still actually care about the people in the show, despite that ridiculous unneeded bit about Denny's stupid ghost and Izzie's mystery illness, the whole Izzie and George sham, their destruction of a perfectly interesting character that was Hahn, the boredom that was Derek, etc, etc. Did I just drink the Kool-Aid, or has this show returned to form (if not fully, as least partially)? I’m now engaged about practically every character on the show, even the new interns, whose background drama has made them much more intriguing than the whole cutting-each-other up bit.—Belly Matt Roush: I’m not quite with you on the interns (excepting Lexi) yet, but overall, I’m glad to see Grey’s Anatomy back on its game, delivering some of the best tear-jerking scenarios around, and doing it in a way that leaves us entertained and not depressed—which has a lot to do with the affection we feel toward these terrifically drawn characters. (The one exception: George, for whom they really do seem to have run out of story. I love T.R. Knight, but maybe it’s time.) The Denny’s-ghost period was horrible, and they could have revealed Izzie’s illness in a less excruciating way. But the way it’s playing out now with relationship with Alex, along with Derek’s career redemption, and the euphoria of McDreamy’s elevator proposal to Meredith contrasted with the trauma of Cristina’s attack by Owen (who we’re still rooting for because he’s clearly so wounded), and Bailey doing her best to keep everyone in emotional check, Grey’s once again is delivering the goods, and I’m looking forward to it instead of dreading it each week. The fact so many of us have rallied back to it belies that whole “jump the shark” theory. It appears we can forgive some shows just about anything. But Shonda? Please don’t test us again. http://www.tvguidemagazine.com/ask-matt/ask-matt-is-greys-anatomy-back-454.html Save the Date, May 7: Nice Day for a Grey's Wedding? - Mar 29, 2009 The only question is whose, exactly. At a party marking the filming of Grey's Anatomy's 100th episode, series creator Shonda Rhimes confirmed that the milestone hour will air May 7 — and indicated that it might feature the nuptials of the show's central couple. "The only thing I'll tell you about the 100th [episode] is that it takes place on Meredith and Derek's wedding day," Rhimes told the Associated Press at the show's celebration. Thirdly and perhaps most importantly, Rhimes has previously said that the wedding taking place toward season's end would be a "surprise." Now, is that "surprise" as in the aforementioned short engagement or "surprise" as in the couple that emerges at the end of the aisle is not the same one that started down it? http://www.tvguide.com/News/Greys-Anatomy-wedding-1004496.aspx?imw=Y Will Meredith and Derek make it down the aisle – TV Guide Scan Will they or won’t they? It’s the question everyone has been asking since surgical intern Meredith Grey hooked up with Dr. Derek Shepherd the night before she started working at Seattle Grace. Now there’s ring on her finger and creator Shonda Rhimes has said the 100th episode of the show — “a love letter to the fans” — will take place on Mer and Der’s “wedding day.” Of course, a day does have 24 hours, so this episode and season could unfold without any “I do’s.” Especially since, as Rhimes tells TV Guide exclusively, the 100th installment of the show will have its share of medical trauma: “We have a series of medical cases, young people who have been injured on the biggest day of their lives, which is graduation day.” Since when have medical emergencies stood in the way of love on Grey’s? It’s been rumored another couple will tie the knot on the day the Grey-Shepherd nuptials are supposed to take place, Izzie and Alex? Sloan and Lexie? With their scrubs, they’ve already got the “something blue.” TV Guide Magazine.com reader’ poll – Who’ll tie the knot on Greys? Derek and Meredith – 42% Alex and Izzie – 41% Owen and Cristina – 9% Sloan and Lexie – 8% ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TV SQUAD ‘Grey's Anatomy' finally snaps out of its moribund state - Apr 22, 2009 Welcome back, Grey's; almost all is forgiven. It's fitting that the redemptive power of a well-delivered apology is one of the show's running themes over the next two weeks. If ever a series was in need of seasonal redemption, it's this one. Happily, for those still willing to forgive, the first two post-hiatus outings are Grey's at its moving, funny, broad-stroke best — so good, they may even make up for the midseason slump that preceded them. There's no question that the Return of Dead Denny story line tested the patience of even the most devoted fans, going on too long, going way too far, and turning Izzie into a sex-crazed idiot while exceeding the bounds of acceptable Grey's silliness. Still, the show has a habit of (or talent for) wandering down seemingly unpromising byways only to arrive at a surprisingly felicitous destination. So it has again, as Izzie's battle with cancer has brought Katherine Heigl back into the fold and the show back on point. As always, multiple stories play out, most reflecting upon each other. Izzie's cancer and Meredith and Derek's upcoming wedding are driving plot points, but other issues and characters hover around, from George's gift for trauma surgery to Owen's inability to deal with his own traumas. Parental issues also come to the fore. Next week, Izzie gets a visit from her mother (Sharon Lawrence); this week, Callie gets a visit from her father (Hector Elizondo), a story that finally puts a meaningful spin on Callie's sexuality, rather than reducing it to a tease or a joke. There are light moments, but you're more likely to remember the somber ones: Bailey pleading sotto voce with a father to hug his dying child and accept the inevitable, or another character finding a way to say "I love you" when the words themselves won't work. This is Grey's as you hope it will be, pinning its flourishes to real feelings and keeping its exaggerations to a minimum. Even so, TV is not a one-size-fits-all medium: If this show has never worked for you, it probably won't Thursday night. This is not a transformative episode; it's a return to form, proof that within that form, as Meredith says, "We can always try to be better, to do better." Well done. http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/reviews/2009-04-22-greys-anatomy_N.htm Grey's gossip: Will Mer and Der have a baby? - Apr 21st 2009 Is it just me or there seems to be a baby boom in Hollywood this TV season? This is probably the 73rd post we've written here at TV Squad this year about a TV actress being pregnant, wondering how it will affect the show she stars in. When the two lead actresses of How I Met Your Mother announced they were pregnant, the writers decided not to write the pregnancies in and go for the "hiding the belly under big clothes or things" option instead. They even shot the season finale months before they would have usually done so they could have the two actresses in reasonable shape. People announced that Grey's Anatomy lead actress Ellen Pompeo is pregnant with her first child, while reminding us that Chyler Leigh, who plays Pompeo's half-sister, is due in May. We know that Shonda Rhimes decided not to have Lexie be pregnant but what about Meredith? Warning! The rest of this post contains spoilers about upcoming episodes. Before we get to Pompeo's pregnancy, let's deal with Chyler Leigh. Michael Ausiello reveals this week that Shonda Rhimes will work around Leigh's pregnancy by creating a feud between Mark and Derek. Now I don't know how a feud between two men can hide a belly, but I guess it may lead to Little Grey doing paperwork instead of surgeries or not being featured as much in upcoming episodes. Sadly, Ausiello didn't have spoilers to share about how the show would deal with Pompeo's pregnancy, so we can only speculate until his sources provide the dish. Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you know that Derek and Meredith will not wed on what is supposed to be their wedding day (another couple will, though). Could Shonda Rhimes do the next best thing and have them expect a bundle of joy, especially now that her lead actress is pregnant? It's time we have one of the leading ladies be pregnant on screen and see how it affects the show, her work at the hospital, and the lives around her. What best candidate than whining queen Meredith? Do you think Meredith should be pregnant? Vote in our poll below and share your prediction and theories in comments. I hope to have more on this news in the next issue of Spoilers Anonymous. POLL Should Meredith be pregnant? - Yes! A McBaby! - No! More whining! http://www.tvsquad.com/2009/04/21/greys-gossip-will-mer-and-der-have-a-baby/ TV Squad Ten: New supporting characters who helped make their series better - Apr 1st 2009 Lead characters are extremely important for TV series, as they are the basis of the shows' storylines. However, to make said lead characters shine and make the storylines interesting, supporting characters must be introduced. Sometimes, those characters have a major impact on a series and even end up becoming leads. Just see how Ben Linus on Lost was set to appear in a few episodes, but ended up being so helpful to the storyline and loved (or hated) by the fans that he became an integral part of the series and is now a major player on the show. That compelled me to make a list of new supporting characters who helped make their series better this season. Since my list only has 10 items and because I don't watch all current TV series, I will have missed tons of supporting characters, so feel free to add to the list by commenting below. However, note that I restricted my list to supporting characters that were introduced THIS season. So the Ben Linuses of the TV world are not on the list. 5. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), Grey's Anatomy When Journeyman was canceled, I prayed that the TV Gods would find a role for talented actor Kevin McKidd. Luckily, the Gods -- aka Shonda Rhimes, in this case -- answered my prayers and hired McKidd to play recurring character Owen Hunt. Not only did Hunt's addition to the show provide new conflict amongst the hospital staff, but it gave Cristina a new man and added eye candy for the fans. Hunt was so well-received by the fans and his troubled character fit so well on the show that he has since been made a regular cast member to our viewing pleasure. http://www.tvsquad.com/2009/04/01/tv-squad-ten-new-supporting-characters-who-helped-make-their-se/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ZAP2IT ‘Grey's Anatomy' finally snaps out of its moribund state - Apr 22, 2009 Welcome back, Grey's; almost all is forgiven. After a long wait, "Grey's Anatomy" will return on Thursday, April 23 and its preview has been given. Among the highlighted ones are Derek telling Meredith that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her, Owen versus Alex and Izzie passing out. As she endures aggressive treatment for her cancer, Izzie throws herself into planning Derek and Meredith's wedding. Callie introduces Arizona as her girlfriend to her disapproving father, George excels in a trauma emergency when Alex freezes, and Owen seeks help with his PTSD. The subject of a wedding has been circling the show for sometime with the latest rumor saying that Mer-Der's wedding is not the only one. The crew had filmed a wedding scene in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 15 and some sources said that it was Katherine Heigl's character Izzie that was wearing wedding dress under her coat. http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00023575.html Edited by jenlou1986, May 1 2009, 02:54 AM.
