GREY'S ANATOMY SPOILERS ~ SPOILERFIX

Updated on October 12, 2008

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Episodes 5.01 and 5.02: Dream a Little Dream of Me, Parts 1 & 2 (Season premiere)

Airdate: September 25, 2008 from 9 to 11 p.m.

* new 09/17 - [Kevin] McKidd is dashingly heroic: After getting injured in a car wreck during an ice storm, he performs a tracheotomy with a pen in an ambulance. (Yang finds this mighty impressive.) "Owen is a maverick," McKidd says. "He doesn't care about what people think or about being liked." Source: TV Guide
http://www.spoilerfix.com/grey.php

* new 09/11 - I can confirm that two of the following take place in the Sept. 25 season premiere -- one for real and the other in Meredith's imagination (the other two are outright foilers). A. Rose stabs Derek. B. Derek suffers a heart attack and is visited by the ghost of Denny. C. Dr. Burke returns to Seattle Grace and shoots Derek in the face before turning the gun on himself. D. In a flashback, we learn that Derek got into a car accident shortly after leaving Meredith in the candle field. [...] Don't be surprised if the season premiere leaves you a little, um, Lost. [...] A flash-forwardish sequence will show us what two characters might be up to several years in the future. Source: The Ausiello Files

* new 09/11 - A son and his mother operate together. A woman argues with another woman who has to pee. A 50-year-old man can't move his legs after he got into a car accident. The doctor treating him isn't sure he'll be able to walk again. The doctor will put the male patient under cooling blankets to almost freeze his body. His wife discovers that he lost his job and that they are in financial trouble. A passenger was thrown out of the car and has yet to be brought to the ER. Source: SpoilerFix.com

* 09/09 - Meredith and Derek learn that "happily ever after" isn't easy, a military doctor who brings in a trauma patient catches Cristina's eye, and the Chief and his staff reel at the news that Seattle Grace is no longer nationally ranked as a top-tier teaching hospital. Guest starring Kevin McKidd as Owen, Mariette Hartley as Betty, Lauren Stamile as Rose, Cliff DeYoung as Phil, John Getz as Michael, with Bernadette Peters as Sarabeth and Kathy Baker as Anna. Source: ABC

* 07/20 - Fan favorite Denny Duquette, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is returning to ABC's medical drama. Source: The Hollywood Reporter

* 07/12 - Rose is no shrinking violet when it comes to getting McDumped by McDreamy. Given the cozy, candle-burning climax of Grey's Anatomy's season finale, it's no big surprise that Lauren Stamile's run as Derek's squeeze may be nearing its end. But the typically oh-so-nice nurse won't be scrubbed out quietly. Sources tell that when Rose is excised from the superstar surgeon's love life, though she plays it cool with Mer, she is far from Zen about the whole thing with the boyfriend. "I'd count on at least one emotional outburst," previews a setsider. "Rose is not her usual composed self with Derek." What's more, although as recently as this afternoon the talk was that Stamile would only appear in the two-hour season opener, there are now rumblings that Rose may remain a thorn in the supercouple's side just a tiny bit longer. Source: TV Guide Online

* 07/12 - There will be a slight time lapse between the finale and the premiere. We're talking more than a few days and less than a month. There's a rumor going around that Callie will start off the season with a little McSteamy in the oven, but a reliable Grey's insider insists it's "not true." Source: The Ausiello Files

Also in the episode: One of last season's most significant relationships comes to an end. Alex and Izzie contemplate moving in together next week. Well, one of them contemplates it. The other one just says mean and hurtful things. Source: The Ausiello Files
* 09/28 - A plumbing leak becomes a deluge and wreaks havoc at Seattle Grace, as the Chief attempts to implement new teaching policies and George tries to retake his residency exam; meanwhile Derek hopes to move the roommates out of Meredith's house. A doctor explains to Arnie that he's been lethargic because of a bening brain tumor. This could explain why he mostly slept through a trip he took with his wife. Arnie is concerned that Maureen wants to divorce him. However, when she learns that he is sick, Maureen feels really bad. To convince a kid to let the nurse put an IV on him, a doctor agrees to have one put on his own arm. Source: SpoilerFix.com

Marilyn knew Stan was having sex with other women, but she never thought he was having a relationship with one of them. She is devastated to hear the news especially since she's given up pretty much everything in the past three years to take care of him. Stan's office temp, 20-year-old Lindsay Herman, drops by the hospital saying she is there to give bone marrow. Doctors and interns also take care of 50-year-old Bruce Walling, a wealthy businessman, who is accompanied by his 23-year-old son PJ. Father and son have a strained relationship. Episodes 5.14: Beat Your Heart Out
Airdate: February 5, 2009

* new 02/02 - We will get our first clue into what's ailing [Izzie] at the end of Thursday's episode. [...] Thursday's ep features one of the funniest, all-female group hugs ever. Also, there's a bawdy cafeteria scene that is so quintessentially Grey's that it reminded me how much I miss the good, ol' show. Oh, and did I mention the girl-on-girl action? 'Cause there is some! [...] This week marks the arrival of Laura Allen as a woman from Owen's past. [...] George is literally on screen for about 10 seconds. [...] By the end of this week's episode, I'm pretty sure everyone in Seattle Grace (patients included) will have seen that damn ring except poor Meredith. Source: The Ausiello Files

* new 01/25 - Now that Derek has the engagement ring, he searches for the perfect way to propose to Meredith, as Lexie demands that Mark go public with their relationship, and Bailey, encouraged by her work on recent cases and by Dr. Dixon, considers a new direction for her medical career. Dan Peck: Male, All Ethnicities except Caucasian, 30's, good and loving parent to Kailie. Kailie Peck: Female, All Ethnicities except Caucasian, 9-11 year old to look and feel 9 years old. Pretty little girl, very sympathetic patient in the hospital. Warren Schook: Male, Caucasian, 50's, regular, upper middle class couple; a good person. Rachel Schook: Female, Caucasian, 50's, regular, upper middle class couple; a good person. Woman: Caucasian, early to mid 30's, sunny, simple and sweet. Must be available for a future episode. Source: SpoilerTV
* 11/11 - They're looking for a famous actress to play a thirtysomething patient for a three-episode guest arc. She's said to be funny, warm, have a sense of humor and be a girl next door type. Source: Kristin on E!Online

* new 01/25 - Playing Owen's ex-lover will be Laura Allen. Allen will guest-star in this season's 15th episode, which is shooting this week (and also marks Melissa George's final appearance as Sadie). [...] George told reporters at the Golden Globes that while Sadie will not get a big send-off, her departure will have a certain coolness to it. Source: TV Guide Online
* new 01/25 - Two hours of strong medicine and stronger emotions play out when [Private Practice's] Naomi and Sam accompany [Addison and her ailing brother Archer] to Seattle Grace. Nothing far-fetched here: Sam, Naomi and Addison went to college with Derek and Mark -- and it'll be up to neurosurgeon Derek to correct whatever's wrong with Archer's brain. The story line continues through February 19. Source: TV Guide [Note: If you want to have the background info needed about Archer's condition, you should watch the February 5 episode of Private Practice.]

* new 04/17 - Thatcher Grey and Sharon Lawrence as Izzie's mom are both slated to appear in the April 30 episode, which was written by Anatomy maestro Krista Vernoff. And the two men in Ellis Grey's life (the Chief and Thatcher Grey) finally kinda throw down, and Izzie turns out to be a chip off the old block. Her mom, Robbie, is extremely chipper, like a less evil Tracy Flick. Source: Kristin on E!Online
* new 04/17 - Does McSteamy "do" parents? That's the big question in the April 30 episode, when a now-sober Thatcher Grey invites his daughter and her new beau out to dinner. [...] A source tells me that on Mer and Der's wedding day, airing May 7, the groom gifts his bride with her first solo surgery. Source: TV Guide Online
* 04/13 - As preparations continue for Meredith and Derek's wedding, Izzie receives a surprise hospital visit from her handful-of-a-mother, Robbie. Meanwhile, a newly sober Thatcher visits his daughters, Meredith and Lexie, in order to make amends, and the Chief and Meredith bitterly fight over a controversial medical case. Guest starring Sharon Lawrence as Robbie, Jessica Capshaw as Dr. Arizona, Jeff Perry as Thatcher, Kellie Martin as Julie, Nina Siemaszko as Kate and Megan Henning as Willow. Source: ABC
* 04/05 - You know how when sad dad Thatcher Grey swings by Seattle Grace, he almost always stirs up some sort of trouble, angst and/or agita? Amazingly, his April 30 visit will bring Meredith and Lexie closer together. Source: TV Guide Online
