Senior Member Posts: 985 Group: Admin Member #7,603 Joined: February 2, 2009	Hey gang - over the last couple of weeks, a few people have been PMing me about posts popping up in the wrong forum categories. I'm trying not to get too anal, but I do want to try to stop things from slipping further. So... + All events threads should go under "Organized Play" + From here on out, threads that are primarily links to blog posts should be posted in one forum only - "Vs. System Blogs and Articles". If you have a post that is primarily a link to your blog, and it isn't a Vs. System-related post, then please post it in YARRINJA. (Vs. System related posts are anything that specifically has to do with the game itself. Blog links about comics, movies, other superhero games...all go to YARRINJA.) And finally, a forum rules update that I will be actively enforcing: + You insult ANYONE directly, you get a public warning. I don't care who started what. If two warnings become necessary within a 48 hour period, you get a week off to think it over. Further trouble after you come back, it's a month, then a year. Overall, we've been doing pretty good around here. I want to keep it that way. That's it. Now go play Vs.! Edited by carlosthedwarf, May 27 2009, 03:48 PM.

BabyDwarf.webcam.net It's a pay service but well worth it, and I found the admins youthful optimism refreshing to say the least, even if his grammer is a touch infantile. I may toddle over there now.

Forum lawyers badgering admins about anal personal gripes winning out over a free community of active conversation seems to be throwing cold water on a nearly extinguished fire. But that's just me. I'm glad that those with an axe to grind now have their sharpness. More power to them. The really funny day was when they got Chedy himself to scold me via PM on TCGplayer! As if we need to "slow down" our input because we have so much activity and we need to keep it all categorized properly. Giving people yet another reason to bail? Priceless. Sigh.

And then some of use see the glass as half full... I get tired of seeing the same people skirt the 'please don't be rude and insult others' request/rules the admins have layed out. I would rather see nothing on these boards than see a return to Vs Realms. Does it really hurt anyone to have an intellectual debate? No. But it stops being intellectual when the insults start flying around. We have a limited number of people left, our hopes of recruiting more players is not great (though it happens) and if we have to lose someone, then let it be those that can't respect the company they are in. What is left of this community deserves to not have to deal with the juvenille attitude that is so often thrown around on forums in general. Entering a forum should be like entering someone's house: You can comment all you like, but once you insult those in the house, you get to leave and not come back. The old attitude of 'it's just an online forum and I will say what I ***damn want' is old, rude and now, done. It's time for everyone who cares about the survival of our game to take this to heart, and if you disagree with someone, great, do so in a civil manner. So if people bail because they can't control what they type, then good riddance, but this will not effect the average person who comes to these forums for news and activity about Vs. So Stu, I would like to amend the closing to your post: Having a game you can play, read about and enjoy without a-holes jumping down your throat because they do not like something you contributed....priceless.

I hate it so much that I even asked for a sale thread and auction threads to be included in the trading section to make it better. Thankfully they were incorporated. Same thing happened when we needed a references thread, and when Scott started his 100 ideas project. Lets be honest it is easier to navigate and find what you are searching for when threads are in the place where they belong. As for the insults. Well if you have a problem that you can't resolve by any means throwing out a few curses and swears isn't going to solve the problem any faster. Yeah we live in a free country that grants us freedom of speech, but just because we can say what we want doesn't mean that we always should. Sometimes it better serves our purpose if we chill. Thats what I have been doing and it has paid in dividends. If you don't want to be keeping civility in the forums then by God you are the destructive force we need to get rid off. Yes we are a limited community. Like I told Carlos once we are an endangered species, and if it comes down to losing one to save the rest then so be it. If I get a temporary or permanent ban for my actions there is no one else to blame but myself. Count me in for a half full kind of guy who is looking to fill 'er up.
