While talking with Gugs about fan sets, and thinking about how best to play sealed and thinking about what Cliff mentioned earlier, I came up with this amazing idea. Just one thing though; - it works best with sealed pack. It is much more tedious to do it for drafting. - Take your fan set, and place them in order numerically. Give each card another number, based on the rarity. Example, card 1 is a common and card three is a common. Card two is not a common. For the purposes of this new extra number, card 003 of the fanset is card 002 common as well. - Take the set you're actually cracking packs from, and repeat the process. - Match up the cards with their rarity numbers, switch them, use the appropriate cards and play! |

there have been too many views and no responses, so I am left to wonder - this DOES work, right? |

Doesn't MWS have a sealed pack generator? Why not load the custom set into MWS and then generate as many packs as needed, each person collects the print outs of the cards listed in their pack and builds their decks. Heck you wouldn't even need new packs. You could call it NSS, Not-So-Sealed Play. Just set up 30-40 sleeves per person with extra cards. Once the person picks up their print-outs they can then slide them into the sleeves boom they're ready to go. No, let me put a caveat here. I have very little experience with MWS and have never tried to produce a sealed pack with it. Anyway, just some thoughts. I know, for me at least, part of the fun of sealed play is opening up the packs and seeing what awaits. Unfortunately, since we would be replacing that anyways, if what I have suggested is feasible, I see know need to have actual packs to open. Just use your extra cards. Again, if I'm wrong here let me know. I'll also try it at home tonight to see what happens with it. |

I meant for real life sealed play. I have no idea how to get this sealed pack generator to work; then there's the conventionality issue; is each participant going to go onto mws just to print out their packs? If I were playing online, I'd look into it. It'd take some convincing to sway me for real life play though. |

I'm talking about real life as well. I'll check tonight, but if the generator works the way I think it does. I wouldn't be hard. You load your fan set to MWS. You print off say 10 of each common, 10 of each uncommon and 3 of each rare. Once everyone is there, you generate enough packs for everyone to have the correct number and printout the list. Each player goes by and picks out the printouts of cards in his list, builds, sleeves-up and play. It's essentially the same thing you're doing but changing how your cards are determined. Instead of having an actual sealed pack and then have to figure out which cards correspond to which fan cards, you generate a pack of sealed fan cards and then pull them from the pre-printed-out cards. As long as you have a computer on hand, it's really very convenient and does not require having actual sealed packs. |

OSM, don't go there to fast. I checked MWS last night. It is a "Sealed deck generator" on MWS not a sealed pack generator. Somewhat of a difference. When you bring up the interface for the sealed deck generator it tells you to load your packs. Now, the issue is how to do that. I'll keep working on something. There needs to be an easier way for this to happen. I'll let you know what I come up with. |

Like I said guys. When Flashback gave me his registered copy of MWS I will give back to the community as much as I can via MWS. later, Kj P.S: I am looking more into this Sealed online play. It looks like it is a little more complicated than just saying...Set, Sealed, Play. I will figure it out and get back to you all. |

Yeah, the issue is less simple than I first thought. If we can find a way to generate sealed packs, we'd be OK as long as it is sufficiently randomized. |
