Whats up guys,

My son and I had a really GREAT time at the Dallas Vs. Mega Weekend last June 09 and we were wondering if there were plans for another one anytime soon...We usually plan on going to Wizard World Texas in Arlington but that is now a BUST and it seems like there aren't any conventions or shows in Texas anymore...Its about that time again...The organizers should get together and plan another fun weekend...!!! We are all in Houston but you can count on us either way...We would love to have you all come down here for a meetup but we are always happy to come to Dallas...Charles, Micheal Barnes, Shane, what do you guys think...??? Come on fellas...lets do it again...!!! I can round up about 6 plus guys, 7 if you count me twice LOL haha...!!! Seriously though talk about the posibilities...???

Take care,
Ahmed & Dylan

6-7 people is a VERY good start. Unfortunately, Minnesota to Texas isn't as easy hike. Good luck though guys! That's amazing that you still have that large of a group around.

Ahmed, good to see you guys are still active. I'm not sure about Mike and Shane, I haven't seen them on the boards recently, but I've e-mailed both of them recently so we do keep in touch. I'd have to get with them to see if they would be interested in playing. I know Shane sold all his cards to Reid, but that wouldn't really make much of difference since I'm sure he has access to a ton of cards between Reid, Mike, and others. I'll e-mail them both to see if they'd be interested in playing.

I got ahold of Michael and Reid and they think that early/mid January would probably be best. Micheal's job gets fairly busy after that and he may not be available. Shane's also got a recent addition to the family (his wife was pregnant during the last tournament) so I don't know what kind of a schedule he is going to be able to make if any travel is included.

Just thinking about it rather quickly, it looks like we have a couple of options. We could hold it down in Houston since the last two have been up here, however depending on when it is held would determine how many of us would be able to make it down. I would assume that we could use your facility for that which would cut down on part of the cost of setting up the tournament (which is always a good thing). Or we can set it up here again and I can get ahold of Bulldog Comics and Games and see if we can use their facility (unfortunately CiCi's has just locked down that section of the store and will not be using it until a remodel will make it into a video game section). I don't what they would charge, if anything.

In terms of the formats, that would be easy enough to figure out. Obviously constructed, draft, and sealed should be included as well as some side events such as some type of constructed (BYOT, BYOTT, Clone Saga, etc). Prizes would probably be another story. We've got Spud's playmat art already to go, so it would be fairly simple to get those ordered and shipped in. Plus, he put in alot of time on that art, which I really wouldn't want to waste. I'm sure Michael and Shane would probably be able to contact TBS and see if he's got any extra prodcut he could sent our way for prize support. Let's keep talking this up and see if we can come up with something.

Hey guys, even though I haven't played at all in the last couple months because I was jaded by low turnouts, I'd definitely be interested in this. I'd probably be available in January as well but either early or late January would probably be better than the middle. Also, for those coming in from Dallas, I've got 2 guest rooms at my house that people are welcome to stay in, first come, first serve and I only live about 15-20 minutes away from Bo's.

Anyways, if you guys organize it, I'll probably be able to make it.

We're working on it. I've contacted Michael and Reid and they seem to be available. Not sure if I can come, however, but I'll help in whatever way I can regardless.

I haven't really had much time to think it over, but it's really just a matter of setting the date at this point. I spoke with Ahmed and he's got prize support in the form of playmats and since he has a card store as well, he's got access to purchasing packs for sealed and access to a location so that's no issue. The format shouldn't be too hard. Probably SA or some form of limited GA (BYOT). I'll e-mail Ahmed and get him Michael's e-mail address so they can communicate directly as I don't think I'll be able to make it regardless of when in January it falls. I've got a church basketball league I've committed to running which will span into February. If you would, try to touch base with Ahmed and discuss some options for formats.

Honestly I like what Michael and Shane had going for the last tournament we had here, sans the facility problems (of course). That gives everyone plenty of options and opportunity to play a little bit of every format.
